  1. The process of hanging is designed to snap your spnial cord at the 3rd vertebrea. The length of rope and drop is calculated on the victims weight to have the desired effect. If the drop is too great or if you increase the drop by jumping before the trap is opened you run the risk of decapitation. I'd still take decapitation over strangling. The process doesn't strangle Stevo, done properly it breaks the spinal cord - instant death. O ok, fair enough. In that case follow my advice if it won't be done properly

  3. That would be a LOT funnier without the Silence I kill you bits!
  4. Don't know about that but I'd be shitting myself. I'm a little worried that you're preparing for your execution though Stevo, what've you done? Swam in the pond outside the Roger Stevens building Brilliant, brilliant answer! Though I think that'd probably kill you before you needed execution. Having said that my flat mates did it in first year, then someone ran off with their clothes. They were not happy! I did it in first year too on an otley run. Managed to remove most of the skin from my shin when I jumped in, so wasn't fun at all. Miraculously, i survived.

  6. If you are being burned at the stake, you should piss yourself, as this will create a lot of smoke which will suffocate you relatively painlessly compared to burning to death. Similarly, if you are being hanged you should jump as high as you can as they remove whatever you're standing on as this will break your neck as opposed to choking to death.
  7. How? I'd like to think someone put a double bed where she was falling and it cushioned her fall. If I remember correctly she was an air hostess and had sat and belted herself into the backwards facing hostess seat. When the plane was blown up the section she was in fell with her at the top, essentially, and the rest of the wreckage underneath her acted like a cushion as it crumbled on impact. She was still very very badly injured but lived. I've looked it up and you are correct. I was under the impression that she was thrown from the plane and basically freefell on her own and survived. Still an incredible story, but slightly less incredibe than I first thought.

  9. I posted this one a few pages back, but I think I pulled it off better
  10. I HATE these **** chuck norris statements, but I must admit that one made me smile.
  11. In a similar vein, you're more likely to be killed putting your trousers on than in a aeroplane. I've heard that too, it's facts like these that help me fly! Never really understood why, but I'm not a very good flyer. Nowhere near enough to stop me flying, but i always get quite nervous. Again, don't know why as it's not the sort of thing that usually bothers me, but there you go.
  12. 10 times more people a year die from travelling by donkey than die from travelling by aeroplane.

    Cheating

I have, but it was a very long time ago, (still in school). Wouldn't anymore, or at least wouldn't intend to. i guess you can never rule anything out as you don't know how you would react in certain situations, but certainly don't see myself cheating in the future.
  14. Yeh it's where The Works used to be, at the top end of Broad Street near the Five Ways island. They are strict on the door, especially at the moment as they have a huge amount of people wanting to go in. That'll calm down though. i would advise if you want to go, check if they are selling tickets before hand and buy some, as they'll let you in if you have a ticket (as long as you aren't dressed like a tramp!). Otherwise just get there fairly early, dress smart and you should be fine. It's a top night out though, recommend it highly.
  15. I think that would explain why Academy has a bigger capacity. It's all just one huge space, and only 2 floors, where as Crasher has all sorts of floors and i would imagine access to fire exits is a lot less easy than iin Academy.
  16. You'd think so wouldn't you? I thought it would eclipse the 4,000 mark, but when i searched Google for the capacity it came up with a report from one of the Birmingham newspapers about the opening of Gatecrasher, saying it had a capacity of 2,400. Very surprising given the length of the queue you get there. Either way, the place is absolutely **** huge, I really couldn't understand my mate's logic, you could easily get lost or lose someone else in that place. I fthat is the capacity, then I would imagine it's for safety reasons rather than purely how many you can cram in there.
  17. It doesn't matter, because the Academy is a pile of wank as anything other than a gig venue, whereas Crasher is actually a good night out.
  18. Crahser by a mile. Are you sure it only holds 2400?
