  1. Exactly, and it was a very good analogy imo. It made a pretty good point. But you can't have an analogy as the number 1 game on a list of games that changed the world. That's silly.
  2. I mean, it kind of made sense, and I know it was in chronological order as opposed to actually being in order of impact or anything like that. but I was still a bit annoyed Yep. Me and my housemate, both thoroughly enjoyed the hungover trip down memory lane up until that point. I'm sorry, it doesn't count. I'm not having it. My reasoning is simple, how can it be a game when you're under no obligation to "play" whilst taking part? Maybe it is to a few, but those few need taking out the back IMO. I think it was very good to talk about it, and have it as a consequence of computer games. i.e. "here's an overwhelming piece of evidence as to how computer games have influenced modern life" But to actually include it as a game itself was wrong, imo. I'd also like to see a similar programme which looked at the best ever games, rather than just a chronological list of high impact games. As good as it was, there's plenty of incredibly important games that weren't mentioned (Zelda, Final Fantasy, any sort of sport game (apart from Pong I suppose), Portal etc etc )
  3. We have a bake off at work every year, and dammit this year I want to win! (that cake is surprisingly easy by the way)
  4. I made this at the weekend (it's a cake by the way...)
  5. Having played in goal for 20 years, I can say with certainty that cockiness/overconfidence is basically a necessary attribute for a goalkeeper. yes, you have to harness it somewhat, but a timid goalkeeper is doomed to failure.
  6. They call it a deadlift for a reason...
  7. Was she dry-humping your danglies at the time or did you meet her away from work I was there with the girl I'm seeing (yeah, bit weird), so I was talking to her at work but with the knowledge that I wasn't interested in a dance in any way shape or form (not that I didn't WANT one of course ) as my gf was standing with us. But yeah, she said she paid £80 a night to the club to dance there and kept everything else she earned. She worked 4 nights a week and said she considers it a bad night if she goes home with anything less than £500. Said she regularly earns 3 or 4 grand a week. It might have been bullshit. but I'm not sure why she'd lie to me in that situation
  8. I had a conversation with a stripper on Saturday night, as you do. They earn shitloads of money.
  9. I find as long as you grab the arms and the legs at once and use proper form, dead bodies are pretty easy to move. It's the concrete block to tie to their feet that I find the hardest to transport.
  10. I don't think he's done too much of note. Decent shot stopper no doubt. But as the Rev says, it's about more than that. And he's not particularly special at the rest of his game, this season or any other.
  11. I didn't see the game, but the stats for Saturday's match don't back up this post.
  12. Not a chance. He's decent. Nothing more.
  13. That the Number 1 game on "Charlie Brooker's 'How Computer Games Changed the World'" was I mean, it kind of made sense, and I know it was in chronological order as opposed to actually being in order of impact or anything like that. but I was still a bit annoyed
  14. Haven't checked this thread for a couple of days. Did I miss anything?
  15. There was some sort of documentary on about the homeless a while back and they did some tests where they sent a bloke out begging in various locations and then sent the same guy out, at the same time, to the same places, but this time with a dog, and he got way way more money with a dog than he did without.
  16. I have a question about Big Issue sellers. If they don't have a vest on with Big Issue on it then they're not legit are they? THose ones you get walking around with 1 copy who say "I'm selling the Big Issue, know you don't want my last Big Issue but could you spare a quid?" are just pulling a fast one aren't they? I give money to beggars if I have some spare change, but these ones I almost feel like not giving any too because they're being sneaky.
  17. Bought that LG. Should come today, but I foolishly decided it would be a birthday present so my parents are keeping it until the 15th
  18. Yes. To get round that comics were they do fight effectively play up Superman as thick, Batman levelling the field by being smarter (supposed to be The World's Greatest Detective after all). Batman has a Krpytonite ring for such occasions, which I think Superman gave him, just in case. Daft, I know. Yeah I think I'll be giving that one a miss then. It's a comic book film, so there's a 90% chance it'll be shit anyway, silly plot or not.
  19. People said similar things about Heath Ledger being the Joker
  20. First season of Breaking Bad is done. It's not bad is it?
  21. A game based on the worst sport ever turns out to be the worst game ever. Sounds about right
  22. Yeah I read that somewhere too. In this thread, just now
  23. Squatted 135. Getting back up there!
  24. Yup, it sucks. But if it helps, in my head I'm still about 16
  25. Squats tomorrow. If someone's curling in the rack then they're gonna get a boot up the arse
