  1. possibly, but I've actually still got a couple of million spare so I'll probably change it saturday morning. three times.
  2. I'm trusting to QPR and Mark Hughes being a stubborn side, although if the red card bonanza continues I'll be making a swift change.
  3. I know, I will invariably change it, but as usual I make my team with a view to loading it up with strong forwards. Undecided on Allen, and Liverpool players, I have a feeling their going to be a very solid but frugalside with many 0-0s and 1-0s involved, so not sure how many points they'll get.
  4. joined. as usual ruining it with a terrible villa bias, have gone for holman over alhamdi, and trusting to ireland and clark having strong years.
  5. I am led to believe there will be activity in the next 3 weeks.#putyourmoneyonit
  6. anyone know when the highlights will go up on avtv?
  7. prefer no to loans, or if it is to be a loan, not a pl side, irritates me enough we won't keep the player if he's good, but moreso if its for a side in the same division.
  8. finally saw it last night. loved it. Slots in at number 2 for me, 1>3>2. Glad it dialed back the action of 2 and had more of the character stuff of one. Very satisfying conclusion. Had no problem with it at all really, although I want to see it again because the main twist caught me out entirely, so will be interesting to see if it was telegraphed earlier on.
  9. urgh. Jones no. Rather re-sign Heskey. Would obviously back Lambert#s judgement, but would have an air of the harewood about it, in spite of all the well wishing, you know he'd be shite and then impossible to get rid of to another club. Overseas or someone else please.
  10. Recently seen The Lives of Others - superb film, loved it, about spying on the citizens in east german, very absorbing. Old School - saw it for the first time in about 9 years, not as funny as I found it first time around. Bright Young Things - not bad, entertaining enough, though spent most of the film going "oh its that guy! and its whatsiname from that! watching Good Night and Good luck this evening which is a good'un.
  11. 13mil is fine by me if it were true. and preferable to carroll too. imo.
  12. I was happy when we signed him, and he was good for for his first season at least. There is a player in there, unlike Hutton. I'd still think we should replace him, but if not I'd back Lambert to get better performances out of him than GH or Voldemort.
  13. United still need a proper central midfield, in spite of that forward talent. Is this Moura chap a centre mid?
  14. no its too late for a rejig so it just stays at 23 teams.
  15. so when is any of this financial troubles actually going to start affecting the club? Seem to be surviving ok so far?
  16. Hilarious posts outstanding doesn't necessarily mean good. :winkold:
  17. Well, as an eighties boy I don't think culture is peaking about now, although, US telly at the moment is pretty spiffing. Can't pinpoint a decade for anything really, except to say I have a growing to desire to see far more films from the 30s-50's, etc, seeing La Grand Illusion and Dr Strangelove in recent months, definitely two of my favourite films, has given me the taste to watch more of these. Musically I'm all over the place, and will generally just listen to whatever my friends recommend, or what I may randomly stumble across. Although, I want to get into more 'blues' and proper **** rnb, none of this shit from the past 20 years, the old school stuff I've heard snippets of but want to listen to more of that. Blues / Soul/ before what I can roughly suggest was ruined by the late 80s / early 90s mtvification of the genre. But otherwise, a good tune, is a good tune, whether it's Captain Beefheart, Kraftwerk or the Foo Fighters. Literary? Impossible THere's so many books I want to to read, can't even confine that to decades, tends to be more nations or genres like the russians or the french, something with a philosophical twang or crime fiction. or offbeat gaiman esqueness. Clothing: haven't really given a toss about that since I was a kid and had that revolting youthful urge to wear tracksuits all the time, like adidas or whatever. Mercifully gone now. Although I will say this: I can't **** stand more or less anything from the 80's. A decade where Ayn Rand's "philosophy" was popular must have been rather revolting to live through as an adult. Actually, wait, in terms of films - Indiana Jones and Back to the Future save that scrapheap of a decade. And van Halen.
  18. and another! amla goes for 9. *phew!*
  19. must remember to say that next time im asked for a number 4,444,555,566,667,777 "Yes of course you may have my card number; it's four quadrillion four hundred and forty four trillion, five hundred and fifty five billion five hundred and sixty six million six hundred and sixty seven thousand sevend hundred and seventy seven." *click*
  20. cant wait for the new season. Don't think we need a new cb though really. Clark Vlaar Baker and Lowton can play there, the first two may develop the kind of partnership that keeps dunne out of the side with luck, but if not, dunne's only going to miss 3-4 games. And I like Baker anyway. Loooking forward to the new signings and style of play alot. We can finish anywhere from 6-11th I think, with 8-10th the most likeliest I think.
  21. Excellent chance for clark to establish himself or baker.
  22. getting rid of hutton and collins is good for me. Dunne and Warnock will leave next summer and fine, if we don't have the resources this window for a full turn around, I hope he can recover his better form under Lambert.
  23. Wilkommen you big dutch bastard. Please, make yourself at home! Looking forward to seeing him play now.
  24. Just seen a clip of the badminton. ridiculous and expulsion is surely inevitable.
  25. running ticker on the bbc now. vlaar to be confirmed pretty soon too then.
