not that bad for cresswell really. hes a main player at a club that is still something like the 5th or 6th richest lesgue in europe, he signed a contract extension only last year snd the fee also reflects potential. 4-6mil is not so expensive in those terms. If he only had a year left then we might get him for 2mil.

if he's out for a while, i know this sounds a bit counter-intuitive but I suspect it could turn out ok for the lad. He's not going to be expected to be involved for a while, allowing PL to get a decent side playing well together. It's always alot easier for a player coming back into a side which is already cohesive, and performing well, so fingers crossed the players gel to Lambert's liking early days, then by the time he's back in for contention, he could be a bit of a surprise again with less pressure.

incredibly optimistic. We have The Manager for the moment. He's got a great vibe about him and he is someone I trust to do well in maximising players. We may not get the star names this year, but the players who do come in will have a very real impact on the side. I can see him improving the youngsters and not ruining players. Not to mention this year in particular is a highly pressure free year more or less. Looking where we are to other sides top 10 would be good and is achievable, and will be a healthy step towards competing higher up than that, afterwards. Max poss (realistically) 7th should be 7-10th really in a group with everton, newcastle, sunderland, QPR as our mini league.
