  1. Joking aside I reckon he'll do well there. I think he'd have survived another year in the Prem ( not with us! ) so the Aussie league should be easy enough for him to thrive in.
  2. not seen any highlights but what a tremendous response to a very poor defeat on Saturday. Changes effective, Gabby bursting at the seams to start which I expect he will on Sunday - he must do, even better nzogbia appears to have done something useful for us - and a good game to do it, hopefully will do his confidence a world of good. Good to see the defenders get another game together - hope Bennett played well. And a top win against a top side to boost the confidence. Feel alot better at the weekend and glad it's on Sunday!
  3. Just watched an early 90s French film Three Colours Blue - with mme binoche. At beginning of film she loses a composer husband and kid in a car crash, and then a very french drama> of sorts plays out. Don't know how to describe it or why I liked it but it was engaging all the same,. Kept watching even though I didn't really know what I was watching, or what the point, if any, the film had. It ambles along for 90 minutes, and I enjoyed it again, but again no idea why. Good acting I suppose.
  4. so boring. One of the worst of the season, generally as a track, after abu dabhi and bahrain its a **** awful track for spectators. Monaco has the history attached to it, but is still rubbish. The only thing going for this one is appreciating it as an endurance track, and the reliable knowledge there's likely to be a crash or too in it, but one for the purists I suppose. I watch all of them anyway, but urgh. Generally dull, bit gutted for hamilton really. Now it's support fully behind alonso from now on. Feck off vettel, he must be due another DNF soon. *fingers crossed*
  5. utter utter utter disgrace of a performance and result. I don't know if the demented fuckwits got cocky after beating swansea and thinking everything was ok, but I see wansea's result today probably puts our win over them in perspective. **** terrible. I expect tough matches against good teams, and ups and downs as we develop but against **** SOUTHAMPTON that was disgusting, abominable and thoroughly unacceptable. We must must **** clearing in the woods west brom. **** fuming.

    Do you read?

Just finished The Complete Maus the graphic novel by Art Spiegelman, on his father's experience of Auschwitz. It is fantastic, very moving, intensely personal and riven with a remarkable touch of humour at times. Thoroughly recommended Need something slightly lighter now, so got a flashman novel lined up, and Carl Sagan's First Contact. The latter though reads very much ( so far ) exactly how he narrated his Cosmos show, his voice unavoidably becomes the narrators voice in my mind, which is a little odd. Also taking my time getting through Kafka's The Trial. It does labour the point a little really, though does capture the atmosphere well.
  7. good luck to stpehen, hope he does well there. He wasnt terrible for us all the time you know. We had a year 18 months of good / competent performances.
  8. No I'm with BoF here, the 'have it now' attitude definitely leading to far more passive aggressiveness. It's a problem of fuckwits feeling 'Entitled' to stuff. They aren't, well beyond maybe basic accomodation and essential welfare. Just realising I'm writing this after a post on piracy in which I admit not having the patience to wait for tv shows to come out on dvd. Hmm
  9. i cant get anyone more than 2
  10. standard for him tbh. Half disappointed it took him this long :/
  11. what siegrist. is he still here? he's been in the youth/reserves for a while.
  12. barca losing at home to moscow, aidan mcgeady with an assist
  13. well, he has 4 months I think. We've got other players in so the pressure is off him to deliver as much as last year, so maybe, he could re-develop back into the team picking up the confidence in a side that is playing attacking football.
  14. Rangers lost to Queen of the South in the challenge cup tonight on penalties. Brave effort, though.
  15. Effort from the edge of the area by Nathan Delfouneso goes wide of the right-hand post. Nathan Delfouneso fires in a goal from just outside the area to the bottom right corner of the goal. Blackpool 2-0 Middlesbrough. Nathan Delfouneso takes a shot. Save made by Jason Steele Nathan Delfouneso scores a goal from deep inside the penalty area to the bottom left corner of the goal. Blackpool 1-0 Middlesbrough --- getting the chances it seems.
  16. good lad, hope he bangs loads more in- for himself if not for us. Still cant see him coming back to Villa though. But hope he carries on like that.
  17. very difficult to predict given they are desperate for points. I expect us to play well, and perhaps if they didn't have 0 points I'd oddly be more confident about winning. As it is, I think it will be a draw which will be of reasonable satisfaction to both teams.
  18. I suspect so, the added ballache being I know I am planning to go back to Uni to do the phD anyway, with luck from next year, so I face the added horror of having to be disingenous with my committment. Would rather front up, but can't risk any reason not to be hired, although I'm standing firm on the beard. number of hairs on ones face has bugger all to do with ones competency to work
