  1. 126 for Belly today in the onedayers. Kevin who? 8)
  2. will start on it right away hate the damned disease, my gran had it, and I was a bit young / unaware at the time, but looking back amazed how my mum held up at times, when she didn't recognise her kids anymore etc anything that could be a step closer to at the least controlling this is to be promoted! Remember watching the Terry Pratchett documentary on it last year - well moreso on assisted suicide, but it was obviously made with his diagnosis in mind.
  3. Just watched The Devil's Double about Uday Saddam's double and really enjoyed it, surprised by how many poor reviews there appear to be though, I didn't expect fact, but Dominic Cooper's performance in both roles is fantastic, he's especially great in drawing out the batshit insanity of Uday, indeed I thought it was two actors who looked similar until the credits rolled! It appears, it may well have been the story of a massive fantasist, reading around it now, but nonetheless it was a fascinating film all the same. Plot etc does get lost a bit but tbh that was because it's dwarfed by the character of uday and the double latif yahia. well worth it for Cooper's performance at the least anyway, kept me hooked for the whole film.
  4. what on earth is wrong with that? It's fine from what I can see? It's a football kit, not a dress to be paraded by some garden instruments in milan...
  5. Given is absolutely fine at the moment. Change the defence first and foremost. Given will need replacing but he DID save us at west brom, and has been good throughout the year. Issues of corners may be something means he needs to be changed eventually but, it is certainly the least of our worries, certainly this year. Maybe in 2 years time, but for now, perfectly happy with him.
  6. No practical advice here, but from a holiday a few years ago all I can say is that Aussie Rules football is great fun and in perth you have the choice of two teams as ( well at least then ) they groundshare. Through dint of fixture list I "support" freemantle dockers over the other perth one. It is a lovely area though, and there are plenty of expats out there, we were visiting enough of them ourselves good vinyward down margaret river way too. and gorgeous landscapes.
  7. I think we have reached the end of new winner sequence now tho! Could be lewis seb and alonso for the most part
  8. cracking race, disastrous decision for alonso to not follow vettel in for pits, they way these tyres fall of the cliff, Im surprised the team kept him out there. He was going to lose a place to grosjean and perez anyway, but if he'd pitted he might have been able to stay ahead of vettel. But still, pleased for Lewis, leads by 2 pts from alonso and 4 from vettel with webber lurking only a few points behind, setting up to be like 2010 at this rate which is splendid stuff. But seriously, the Mclaren pit crew... AGAIN perez and grosjean drove excellently as well pleased for them. Both could be title winning drivers down the road at some point. button still seriously struggling though which is a shame.
  9. ice hockey needs are catered for by Paul Newman and Slapshot! I know there's more but that's the only ice hockey one I've seen myself. Seann William Scott has an amazing talent for raking in lots of money for playing the same character it seems, but obviously doing better than his other American Pie lot, the Pie Reunion film a reminder of just how little the rest of the cast, Alyson Hannigan aside, have done.
  10. I am just going to relax, I spent the last few days prior to blow out yesterday doing solid 9-10 hour shifts on it , so reading wise I feel comfortable having a day off atm. I'm ahead of schedule. May just have a long weekend and start again Monday. Take a break from it all. ( I did the long walk thing yesterday, didn't help 0 Got some existentialism for some light reading later on anyway. I know and I apologise for how pretentious that sounds, but a a couple of ( light ) essays of heideger / kierkegard / sartre is going to be tangenital enough to what I'm doing - french testimony from concentration camps. In the meantime, stick cricket is great. edit: also, have just ( like 5 minutes ago ) discovered I got 74% in a final module i was waiting on, so I know my module average to this point is now above 70, I am going to celebrate a little, as if I wasn't already going to enjoy the day anyway woo hoo \o/
  11. joined as well. 'downwithracism' is now in. brain too dead to think of a slightly more normal team name : P
  12. my mind has convinced me it can't do any more dissertation work for a while, which is irriating. Yesterday spent 6 hours staring at a screen, and this morning having spoken to my supervisor about sorting this out, I am still without energy. Sigh. Still, suppose I might as well sack the day off and watch tennis and football then. Pissing down outside and windy as ****, but fortunately in the student union building, so may descend into some early drinking at this rate. I'd honestly rather get the work done and chill out later, but cannot get the brain to work which is infuriating. Greh.
  13. what's wrong with becks? no problem with him being in this. Though 35 to trim down to 18 is quite a lot.
  14. liking him more by the day. Ole who? He's saying all the right things so far. This is fun!
  15. that's fantastic. Norwich - ran reasonably well and in the Premiership. Blues - financially **** and in the Championship and he see no reason why he would go there? Yeah, you let Chris know about those transport links again mate, I'm sure he'll think twice.
  16. 8-12th expected, 6-7th + cup run, hoped for.
  17. glad for hughton as well on a side note, as I like norwich so a 1% of me feeling guilty at taking their manager will now be becalmed.

EDIT: Re: London Lax Nah I'm reprising the role of student this year. So bank holidays don't quite have the same level of "woohoo" when all the days roll into one. I was simply annoyed the library didn't open until 9.00 this morning, having to waste 20 minutes walking around in rain I admit I was supportive of the wedding bank holiday last year, when we had a bucketload of time off in one go!
  19. Batman Begins is my favourite of the lot, tends to be the way with most of these films, except Spiderman, where number 2 was the best. Generally I think it's due to the more singular focus on the backstory / characterisation and transformation into the eponymous hero du choix. But got an itch to go back and watch the Michael Keaton ones now, I enjoyed those, the first one in particular is still a good film.

    Do you read?

"wonderful and imaginative", not surprising for a chap who went out for a paddle in the canoe and accidentally lived in panama for 5 years. The mans got talent
  22. 6/10. Alright. Nothing more. Biggest problem is dialogue, and storyline's not hanging together well enough.
