  1. I do find it amusing when some on here make Poch out to be some kind of demigod and that he’s an unrealistic target. Why is this? He was at Southampton and did well, got them to an eighth placed finish and earned his move to Tottenham. At Spurs he achieved a couple of second place finishes, a League Cup final and a Champions League final but was ultimately dismissed inside a five year period. At PSG he won the title but was replaced after twelve months. Is he in the elite category? Probably, yes he is but I honestly don’t think he’s an unrealistic target. We must be a massively attractive proposition to many managers/coaches. Outside of the big six or seven clubs, we have good owners, a large fan base, a large stadium and ultimately we have money to spend. Let’s not sell ourselves short.
  2. Ultimately the buck stops at Gerrard but I have to say, you don’t see any of his coaching team in his ear or appear to be helping him during a game. Does Danks even exist? I do think his supporting staff are badly letting him down and just as culpable. The continuous improvement line only looks ridiculous if we don’t act now. Purslow needs to stand by the boards principles and fire the bullet this week. Plain and simple. Any further delay is damaging the club badly.
  3. Next appointment will be absolutely crucial. First and foremost, keep us in the league and cement a mid table finish this season.
  4. Time to get this sorted and move him on. We need a lift to get us out of this mess. Hope some if not all of the coaching staff go as well.
  5. Bottom line, it’s a result’s business and his points tally since he’s been here has been woeful, especially this season. Has to go now so we can salvage the remainder of the season.
  6. Yeah, he’s really mixing things up today. Same midfield three, time and time again.
  7. “Lolley popped that one in the top corset”
  8. Carla Ward is actually out of contract at the end of this season but she’s already stated this week that she’d like to stay long term. Really hope we agree an improved contract with her soon as she’s really kicked us on. Our profile in the woman’s game must be going through the roof right now. A final point on yesterday, I know Daly gets a lot of the headlines and rightly so but Dali is absolutely fantastic with the ball. What a signing she is. Frustrating result yesterday but a really enjoyable watch and we deserved better.
  9. What a strange half of which we’ve pretty much dominated. West Ham scored in the second minute from a corner, which didn’t look a corner to start with. Their second was from a ricochet in the box. However, we’ve had most of the ball but have rushed our final pass. A lot to do to get something now but we can I reckon.
  10. Absolutely fantastic news. Kamara Luiz Ramsey Should be our first choice midfield three when fit.
  11. So will this be Gerrard’s last game in charge? Probably not, unless the game turns really sour for us and the crowd turn, and make it toxic for him. However, I just have a feeling that we may see another Man City performance and we’ll this time take another point or even more here. Will Gerrard be brave with his team selection? I’m not so sure, one or two changes maybe? Personally I’d love to see us mix it up and surprise the opposition. We’re all too predictable in our formation and personnel. My team: Martinez Konsa Chambers Mings Cash Dendoncker Luiz Young Buendia Ings Archer Gerrard’s team: Martinez Cash Konsa Mings Young Luiz McGinn Ramsey Coutinho Ings Watkins Subs: Olsen, Bednarek, Chambers, Nakamba, Sanson, Dendoncker, Bailey, Buendia, Archer. Quite honestly, I really don’t know what to expect but I think a draw is certainly possible and no doubt acceptable to Gerrard and the board for now. UTV
  12. I think he thought of pig skin and tried to eat it. #hungry
  13. I hope Ashley Preece asks him about starting Archer this weekend
  14. Even if we drew or won on Sunday, I really can’t see him turning this overall mess around. He’s already shown that he can obtain the odd result/performance from somewhere, probably by fluke, but we’ll never have that consistency under him. That is the alarming fact in all this. In twelve months there is simply no improvement and quite honestly, we’ve probably regressed somewhat. Confidence in the squad is shot, age of the squad has gone up, salaries have gone up and with a very bloated backroom team, expensive to remove. I really can’t fathom why there is a delay in getting rid of Gerrard but I suppose it’s very complicated and going to be very costly to the club.
  15. Agree, I also think UTV is decent. Luke, Justin and Ryan are just regular guys that care about the club and what’s happening.

    The NSWE Board

I agree mate. I was just having a bit of fun with the earlier post Hopefully, they want to tell Gerrard in person that he’s no longer required.

    The NSWE Board

Why, do they have concerns over Carla Ward as well?
  18. I cannot understand why the board are delaying the inevitable? It really is time now. Even if we get a decent result against Chelsea, the overall picture wont change. The football is terrible, predictable and boring. The comment of waiting for moments of magic is truly embarrassing. We have no tactical nouse to enable us to break teams down. Critchley, Mcallister, Culshaw, Danks, MacPhee, are also just as culpable. It’s a ****show. We are NOT going to progress, we are NOT going to improve sufficiently. The players look lost, disinterested and devoid of confidence. I honestly think they don’t want Gerrard leading them now. We’re regressing and sleepwalking into another relegation battle. What are we waiting for? I’m frustrated now and we need to act. This is not knee jerk but twelve months of total stagnation. What a waste.
  19. He’s broken us hasn’t he? All the good work done before by Smith is gone. However, are we beyond repair? I would like to think not. I live in hope that a decision to remove Gerrard is made sooner rather than later. C’mon NSWE, you’re our only hope.
  20. Absolutely critical appointment whoever comes next. Players like Martinez, Kamara won’t hang around in the summer if we have another relegation threatened season. Poch would be someone that could ignite the place and make everyone believe again.
  21. Gerrard has to take full responsibility for the current situation but some of the coaching staff need to take a long hard look at themselves. Does Culshaw and Danks even exist?
  22. I really wanted Gerrard when he was first hinted at coming, as I thought he would take us to the next level. Although young, I honestly thought also that he’d be capable of boxing with the big boys. He would bring much needed energy and most of all, a name that everybody knew around the world. However, he’s been nothing short of a disaster. The squad look totally devoid of confidence and ideas. Last night we were scared and playing not to lose, rather than gunning for a win. The coaching set up is an absolute farce to go with this. Does Danks even exist? This cannot go on much longer. The “Continuous Improvement” line is looking more laughable day by day and we’re sleepwalking into a relegation fight again. It really is poor and we’re a boring watch it’s sad to say. “It’s on me” is wearing thin now and when you start blaming players, you’re slowly heading for the door. Fed up fan today. UTV
  23. No, I always want us win any game and I think we will tonight. However, I do want Gerrard to go.
  24. Yep, very similar. We were silent throughout the game and my dad knew I was scared. Never been back either and never will. I would never take my young lad to that place.
