I asked exactly this a couple of pages back. I thought Juventus etc wanted him after his first season. I wonder if he is fed up with Jota gone and Raul out of the team at present? He’s still a very good player but totally out of form right now.
  2. Cheers mate, much appreciated. Rico Henry is probably already on our radar if you don’t go up with the Smith connection etc. I do like the look of the others, but was not aware of Pinnock, so will keep an eye on him. I do hope you make it this season though as you have an excellent base to work from.
  3. Genuine question, do you rate Henry, Dasilva, Canos, Mbeumo, Toney or others highly? Seems like you guys have a never ending conveyor belt of quality being brought through the first team.

Just had to check this as was doubting it was right (ages and scoring rate). 50 league goals for a wide forward in quite incredible really for someone of Bert’s age. Good European experience as well. 17m doesn’t seem so bad after all. Talk of Adama being valued by Wolves at 70m is outrageous really.
  5. Can’t help but feel a little confident for this one. We may have to soak up some pressure but on the break we’re so dangerous. I’m going to say 2-1 or 3-1 to us. Martinez Cash Konsa Hause Targett Luiz McGinn Grealish Traore Watkins El Ghazi Subs: Heaton, Elmo, Engels, Taylor, Nakamba, Hourihane, Ramsey, Trez, Davis
  6. I’m no doubt in the minority but something in me would still have him here as a back up to Watkins. I know I’m mad and looking at him with rose tinted glasses but if any club could get the best out of him I think we could. Not going to happen though and I’m ok with that.

I still look at Sunderland and think that could be us. We’re very fortunate to have these guys at the helm.
  8. Quietly confident for some season. We must be brimming with confidence, whereas our opponent is wounded and hopefully jaded.
  9. I don’t think any of us really know the true value of a coach do we, as the buck stops with the real manager. However, a new voice on the training ground and on match days must be refreshing for the players. If Smith likes him that’s good enough for me to know he must be adding value.
  10. Went to bed thinking about the value of current and main 14/16 players? Most if not all now have increased in value. Is this fair: Martinez 40m, Cash 20m, Konsa 25m, Mings 40m, Targett 20m, Luiz 35m, McGinn 40m, Grealish 100m, Traore 20m, El Ghazi 15m, Watkins 30m. Hause 10m, Barkley 40m, Trez 10m. Haven’t put a value on the whole squad just the main players so far this season but nice to know that we have some major assets in the squad now. When we recently went down only Grealish had decent value and Levy nearly pinched him for multipack of crisps.
  11. We need a striker without a doubt. If we lost Watkins to injury for weeks or god forbid months, we’d fall down the table. I don’t know if the quality we need is gettable in January and would a player come to us knowing that Watkins is first choice? Tuff one but we can’t just have Davis as back up.
  12. Yesterday has to go down as one of the most memorable Boxing Day games for me. Second half we were just brilliant on the counter.
  13. I think 40-50m right now but by the summer he could be an 70-80m keeper. Let’s not forget what Chelsea paid for someone not so long ago.
  14. I’m not sure what price you could put on him right now and by the end of the season? He really could become the best goalkeeper in the league.
  15. Perhaps going a little unnoticed but he really is vital to how we perform. His engine is ridiculous and I just love a McGinn arse roll.
  16. He’s building something rather special isn’t he?
  17. Think it was Grealish that said he was the hardest player to beat in training and you can see why. Oozes class.
  18. He has always had ability but it’s consistency with him, like most wide men. However, at present his confidence is sky high. Little bits of him, especially his running style remind me so much of Ronaldo.
  19. He like Targett could earn a call up before the end of the season. Apart from TAA I wouldn’t swap him for anyone.
  20. Had I better get some diesel for the open top bus?

They must be chuffed to bits with their investment. Please don’t do a Doug................if Smith wants Muzzy Izzet, then let him have him.
  22. We’ll hurt them and i’m confident. Martinez Cash Konsa Hause Targett Luiz McGinn Grealish Traore Watkins El Ghazi Subs: Heaton, Elmo, Engels, Taylor, Nakamba, Hourihane, Ramsey, Trez, Davis
  23. Seems to be really enjoying himself. The game is almost effortless to him.
  24. Take a bow for that goal son. Sky high in confidence right now.
