I loved Snoddy when he was here but I think we’ve moved on now. Will always look back fondly at his goal vs Sheffield United away. Fantastic finish to a game.

I tell you what, that’s proper dedication that is. Going down Villa Park every week, even when we’re playing away from home every other week!

We need a striker/centre forward and this should be our January priority. If the right player isn’t available then fair enough but other positions can wait surely. Davis just isn’t the right back up to Watkins and he needs a loan to a Championship club.

How long has the January window been open for? No signings announced yet? Smith and NSWE out!

4 points away from a relegation spot. The next couple of months could be really “bumpy” for them.

Decision aside, we were very good for long periods. Away from home against second in the league and we matched them. We’re also disappointed this morning. That’s how far we’ve come. We’ll get games like this and we’ll have games go our way. That’s football. I’m incredibly proud of the team and can’t wait for the next game and next one after that. We’re now seeing some of the best football played since the Big Ron days.

It’s really infectious watching us at the moment and the games can’t come soon enough. In periods during games we play some lovely stuff which wouldn’t look out of place from a top six side. The most noticeable difference between us and a top team is our option to rotate and/or make an impact sub. For instance, Ramsey and Davis last night. We’ll need to be incredibly lucky with injuries and control fatigue if we’re going to stick with our first 11/12/13 players for the majority of the season. This isn’t a criticism of Smith at all because he’s done a truly fantastic job to date. FFP doesn’t help our cause. We’ve a great bunch of lads at the moment and they’re probably annoyed this morning and quite right.

Watching last night made we realise that need a couple of players now (wide forward and striker) and in the summer, several more additions to improve our first eleven/bench. Last night, we just didn’t have the options to change things. We need some pace. Tin hat time but someone like this Rashica fella would have been ideal off the bench, in addition to a useful centre forward. We could have shifted Watkins to the right at this point. Davis need to play a full season in the Championship to really know if he’s worth retaining. I really don’t know who we can realistically get but we need a couple of players in January and that’s the two positions I’d be looking to strengthen.
