  1. Finished 0-0. No shots on target during the whole game, but at least a clean sheet. Off the bottom of the table on goal difference.
  2. Philogene-Bidace or Kesler perhaps? I haven’t seen much of these guys but obviously heard good things.
  3. Jaden Bogle as RB back up to Cash would be a decent pick up but not essential. Sander Berge very decent CM and depending on price could be worth a look. Possibly John Egan as a replacement for Engels?
  4. Love the stuff. Actually started making it myself during the first lockdown. Few tweaks but really easy to get something very similar on the plate
  5. Wonder if his brother Caleb at Northampton is worth a look? Don’t know anything about him though.

I think we’d more likely see Philogene-Bidace on the left and Traore on the right if Smith thought a youngster was needed.
  7. To think Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham may not finish in the top 4 this season. Fair play to Leicester and West Ham for giving it a damn good go. Europe may not be possible for us but a top ten finish would be a very good season after last year.
  8. Think we’ll try and sign 4/5 good additions again this summer. These positions would be: RCB - Engels will go I reckon. I would look to the Championship here and Nathan Collins. Good age to sit behind Konsa and play several cup games or step up if/when Konsa gets injured. Otherwise, if we went for experience, then John Egan would be a useful pick up, however not sure he’d be happy being on the bench or not being first choice. LB - Taylor will go this summer. Henry is the obvious choice here but would be expensive. Lee Buchanan at Derby could be one to look at. Otherwise Aaron Hickey again or Greg Taylor? Targett certainly needs competition and shouldn’t be guaranteed every game. Mid - Barkley to return and Hourihane possibly to Swansea. Nakamba has shown us how limited he is. Ramsey may benefit playing a full season on loan in the Championship perhaps? An addition here in the number 10 role and possibly a defensive minded player? Don’t think we’ll pursue Barkley but could be wrong as we may have dedicated a lot of money on him already? Dele Alli on loan for next season anyone? Olise from Reading is an obvious one but Josh Dasilva is someone that could be considered as an alternative from the Championship. Sander Berge has been mentioned already and not to everyone’s liking but Guendouzi could be an option also. Wide Forward/Winger - Trez or El G or both may go. Brooks, Mbeumo, Sarr, Buendia, Cantwell are obvious thoughts and improvements from the Championship. Lookman has looked good this season, as has Peraira in patches. Marcus Edwards is easily forgotten in Portugal and comes to mind here. Have mentioned either of the Sessegnon brothers previously. Ryan has lost his way a little but is still young and a very good player. Steven isn’t pulling up any trees but both boys are very talented and seem like Smith signings. The jewel for this position though would be Pablo Neto. Probably a £40m-50m plus player already but would push us to the next level and would show our ambitions as a serious top ten club. If he went to someone like United, then perhaps Daniel James is an option? Centre Forward/Striker - Woefully lacking in this area after Watkins. Imagine if Watkins missed ten plus games for us? I do worry about Wes but not for here. Davis I don’t mind but we can’t have him as our only main option from the bench next season. Josh Maja is an option. Armstrong or Toney others? Daryl Dike looks to be a very good young player. Joao Pedro at Watford has impressed this season also. Simply put, we need an addition or two in this area. I do struggle with suggesting any European based players purely because my knowledge in this area is so poor. I see and hear names but know generally nothing about them, perhaps someone could do a similar European list? However, I do think that Smith likes a home grown/based player anyway and think he’ll again concentrate his recruitment from here. Looking forward to an exciting summer.
  9. He’s very good but reportedly on a 50k or 60k a week wage. If Brentford fail to get up this year, I think we’ll look at Henry to be honest. Smith has worked with him at two clubs already. Alternatively, Lee Buchanan at Derby is looking useful at a young age. I do like Greg Taylor at Celtic also.
  10. Having the winner softens the blow of losing to a last minute goal. £56 up on the racing today, so not bad.
  11. Let’s hope they have one eye on the Madrid game.
  12. This is one of those days where if we show them too much respect and lack confidence in our own abilities, we could lose by 2 or 3 goals. However, show no fear like the last 20 minutes against Fulham, then a surprise could be on the cards. Trez has to start this game now (he deserves it) and personally I’d like Davis in to bully them a bit, but Smith just doesn’t start games with two front men, even if Watkins was pushed right or left. I would like Nakamba and Ramsey in to try and add energy and stop some of the supply to their front 3. Team I’d like to see start: Martinez Cash Konsa Mings Targett Nakamba Watkins Ramsey McGinn Trezeguet Davis Team that I think Smith will pick: Martinez Cash Konsa Mings Targett Luiz Traore Sanson McGinn Trezeguet Watkins
  13. Congratulations . As you say, the fun starts now but will be worth it in the end. Just pay close attention to your survey, as ours was rubbish and we ended up with it refunded, and additional compensation being paid. We were offered three types of survey by HSBC and chose the middle one, which sounded more than sufficient. However, they completely missed some damp, bad double glazing fitting at the front of the house and a crack in our brickwork due to an extension. All this required remedial work upon moving in, which wasn’t accounted for. Thankfully, the Birmingham surveyors agreed to cover all costs.
