    I'm not worried about this. The fa cup has it written into its rules that you have to fill a team from your under 18 and under 23s squads. The premier league makes you register a squad of 25 before the season starts and we have many precedents set in this competition around cancellations. I could see us fielding a weakened squad but the only way we play kids is if we choose to.

    The goals will come again when Barkley is back and Grealish is operating from the left. Barkley was almost playing alongside him at points, Grealish on the left will stop him drifting out so much as well and keep him central. I think hes been asked to play an unselfish role during the injury spell.

    We have a printer in subscription, you've just reminded me to up the tariff. My frustration now is that with so many kids in the school, the quality of remote learning will be even lower.

    What's everyone experience of school so far. My childrens primary school have just reported that 250 children have been registered as belonging to key workers. School has about 600 kids in total This is up from 80 in the first lockdown (which reduced to 30 by the end). What's causing this? Employer flexibility, people not wanting to home school again or a result of businesses not being locked down in the same way anymore. Anyone else seeing the same?

    Just heard of the first primary school in cheltenham not opening tomorrow because the teachers dont feel safe, suspect it will be the first of many. I can understand the reaction but i dont understand why people expect it to be better in 2 weeks time. I worry that we are seeing individual groups apply their own guidelines and i worry it will become a competition to see who should get the vaccine first. personally i would rather the schools stayed open but i say that from a relatively safe position. My wife does work at the school though and is very worried about catching covid.

    at this moment, hes an important squad player and our first change up front. Next season or the year after, he'll be blocking a youth players development opportunity. At that point id agree and look to move on. I dont expect a loan to tell us anything

    Watching the training videos, he just doesn't look close at all to me. Pure speculation from a bloke with no experience but his running style looks severely impacted, will he ever make it back again?

    I think he has many improvements to make, in also see many of the benefits now. I think hes a much better player with Barkley in the side and with Grealish playing left. I probably would be as well I suppose. For now, I wouldnt change much, I'd definitely consider a break in the cup and I'd see where we are when were back to full strength.

    Of course he has things to work on, pretty much everyone does. I just wouldnt change the type of striker he is though. While he may not be directly contributing goals, everything hes doing off the ball is massively helping the team. If you stop him running, he may be more successful personally but I'm not sure we will be as a team.

    Would that have been at the expense of mings though? 3 of the 4 games Hause played well were alongside Mings I think.

    Exactly, at the same time luiz has not laid a glove on pogba, Anwar and Mings fail to react to the run of the full back. Our left back is nowhere to be seen and konsa loses Martial but let's have a go at Mings because it suits the narrative. In reality it was a poor team goal to concede but against a very good counter attacking side. Mings make mistakes, of course he does but no more or less than anyone else.

    I agree, it's about finding a balance. Should the system be adapted to get cash more support from the midfield or our centre halves. While cash has been over run at times, weve not conceded huge amounts and neither of last nights goals were a result of Traores lack of tracking. Arguably it's a problem but the additional goals traore brings are a trade off worth taking.

    Deano has said he wasnt ready, might not risk him in the cup but expects him to be fit for spurs. Which is pretty much what weve heard for the last 5 weeks just swap the team names around. Time to start accepting that these things are kept pretty close to the chest at villa now.

    I think while Barkley is out and Watkins isnt scoring, we cant risk dropping a player who is. Barkley is key as it allows Grealish to play wide left and he gets closer to Watkins. I'm not sure if either has scored since the Watkins injury. Trez is undoubtedly a better option to support Cash but in the same respect, Traores quality is the final third is significantly better. A simple look through the trezeguet highlight reel this year will show you that. Nice problem to have.

    At this moment I cant understand the logic for a right winger, traore, aeg and trez can all play there. Surely other positions a priority.

    The problem we have is that we have to tell people were a big club, our actions over the last god knows how many years havent backed that up. I agree with the sentiment, we should stop worrying about jack leaving and start being the club he shouldn't want to leave. Breaking into the England side was important, signings like Barkley are important (and need to be replicated), I think we probably need to qualify for Europe this year as well.

    Careful what you wish for, that additional running contributes a lot to how high we press and our continued defensive resilience. I wouldnt change the way he plays, I'd look to find somewhere who does it just as well so that we can give him a rest.
