  1. Nah I'm pretty sure he loops his way around and comes out of the tap the next time you wash your hands.
  2. We've played counter attacking football since we had MON and that style can be effective, but not if your defence is leakier than Jennifer Lawrence's iCloud security settings. We finally seem to have a side that knows how to defend, can stay organised, and isn't prone to horrible mistakes that gift goals to the opposition. Now that we've sorted that out, i'd expect we'll expand a bit going forward, especially with Benteke back.
  3. We must be watching a different team. I would be interested in you highlighting more than 2/3 moments in the game that you would consider 'really good football'. I would be interested to know how really good football gets you the lowest possession % and sot in the league. Organised? Yep! Hardworking? Yep Really good football?? No not seen that played by villa for years. Certainly not consistently. You can't be a good side with low possession and shot ratings if you are counter attacking. Remember that we've also played the best 3 teams in the league in the last 3 games, including a couple of sides that outspend us by as much as we outspend League 2 sides. I think with Benteke on his way back to full fitness, and Sanchez, Cleverly and Delph working their way into form and learning how each other play, we'll get better as the season goes on. Organised and hardworking is a great basis for good football, and something we've definitely lacked over the last few years. We wont just automatically concede a goal at least like we have for the last couple of seasons. I agree with a lot of this but it hardly supports your initial comment that we are playing really good football. Maybe the phrase "really good football" shows how far my standards have fallen then. Really good in relation to most of the last 5 years.
  4. PES was at least on par with FIFA until about 2010 when PES quality fell off a cliff and FIFA finally got it's shit together. After a few days playing, i'm actually really enjoying this. I've had to knock the difficulty up because I found I was scoring a bit too frequently, but I love the loose nature of the way players and the ball move. There is a heap of momentum when you sprint and you can't just stop on a dime, and you never feel like the ball is glued to your foot like you did in older games. Defending takes patience and timing, but i've gotten much better at it over a few days.
  5. I quite liked Universe mode because I was able to remove all the WWE wrestlers and have the backyard wrestling federation my mates and I had when we were kids in it's place, and it would autoschedule pretty well. As a story mode it's garbage though, and they've been garbage for a while. This version sounds a bit more promising. Plus Sting.

  7. I feel like we're playing some really good football, we're just running the gauntlet with probably the toughest 4 or 5 games in a row any side will have this season. I really hope despite the defeat our boys can keep their heads up and take this sort of effort into games against less expensive sides, because I think we can have a really good season if so.
  8. I've just signed up the a gym for the first time in a while, and i've been trying to get a few friends who are gym regulars to come along with me, which has been really helpful just in learning new exercises etc. I've gotten into a pretty good routine now, and i'm going every 2nd day on average for 3 weeks, which i'm really happy with. Eating is absolutely killing me at the moment, i've probably put on 5kg in the past few months just from eating way too much in a serving every time I eat. Exercising more regularly has just made me hungrier, which has made my bad eating habits even worse. I've started to consciously put less on my plate (one sandwich for lunch instead of two etc) but i'm a terrible snacker as well.
  9. Downloading New Star Soccer now! Sounds right up my alley. If people are looking for an addictive little action game, Duet is quite good. The sense of achievement when you complete a level is great!
  10. Maybe there is a reason for this that i've missed, but why do MK Dons keep up the "Dons" part of their name, when the whole existence of the club is a giant shit on the chest of every Wimbledon supporter, and AFC Wimbledon are now only a league below them anyway. Okay i've done a bit of reading and MK Dons still consider themselves to be a continuation of Wimbledon. What a joke.
  11. Looked every bit of a great pickup at Anfield. Let's hope he can continue that sort of form!
  12. I'd hope the club are at least starting to look at pricing up some "Champions 14/15" t-shirts at this stage. Our motto is prepared after all.
  13. There are so many **** smug Liverpool supporters in Australia, they are the team that are most satisfying to knock off without a doubt. Off to the "Title race" thread
  14. Brilliant effort! Nicked the early goal then kept them at bay really assuredly for 80 minutes. At least someone is keeping Chelsea honest this season!
  15. Football is football, right? In that case i'm going with the MCG, with 100,000 people there on AFL grand final day. My team lost very badly, but it's such an amazing stadium. Secondly, I went to the redeveloped Adelaide Oval for 13 AFL matches this year and it's an absolutely brilliant place to watch footy. Great facilities, great atmosphere.
  16. deschamps would be crazy to call him up, surprised he's retired before the euros in france but im assuming he's struggling with injuries also found it a bit strange last night that benaglio had retired What i'm basically taking from this is that England should have ignored Paul Scholes' international retirement and continued to select him for like a decade, and probably even now.
  17. Obviously the biggest worry for me is that they'll probably use Flower of Scotland as a national anthem, as they did recently in the Commonwealth games, instead of Scotland the Brave which is clearly a better anthem by any measure. I'd run through a brick wall for Scotland the Brave and i'm barely 1/8th Scottish by blood and don't identify with them at all. I mean Jesus Christ, if they can't get a simple thing like this right, how can they possibly be trusted in running an entire country?
  18. In fairness though, a 2 year ban for headbutting a referee is perfectly reasonable. The level of respect referees are given by players in football as a sport is quite frankly pretty appalling. They should borrow a system from one of the myriad of other sports where only the captain is allowed to speak to the referee and any sort of dissent after a foul is given will either advance the ball up the field 10 yards, or alternatively overturn the foul if the dissenter is from the team that won the free kick, The sort of attitude you see towards refs in the premier league filters down through every grade of football (that i've seen, anyway) and is, probably after the governing body, the worst thing about the world game.
  19. And he'll be allowed to serve it over 35 internal friendlies.
  20. We didn't spend a lot but overall i'm much, much happier with our squad this season than I was at the same time last season. Even if most of that is just calling in the bomb squad. I feel like we've got a squad who will have what it takes to stay up pretty comfortably. Once Benteke is back and fit we'll be a pretty dangerous side.
  21. 7 points from 9. Sorry I wrote that when I was half asleep and didn't realise how it would read. I'm genuinely thrilled to see us look consistently dangerous and actually put a couple away at Villa Park. It was brilliant to find some real cutting edge at home for what felt like the first time in years.
  22. We scored 2 goals against a team we should beat at home. Lambo4lyf
