  1. Pepe you dumbass Had to be a red What did he think was going to happen? Call him a word removed and a cheat and get on with the game jesus christ.
  2. Given that Messi's goal took a slight deflection then only just went in off the post, was it even his goal? Classic Messi run though, phenomenal player.
  3. We were only really a threat with the aerial balls, and once we'd scored from one and had a couple of other good chances including the disallowed goal, they panicked a bit, defended a lot harder out wide and gave us space through the middle. We didn't have the class to deal with it, but we've shown a very simple way for a good side to beat them. Get a lot of crosses in. If Tim Cahill years past his prime and playing in the MLS can dominate them in the air like that, the likes of Van Persie and Diego Costa should have a field day.
  4. Brave effort from our boys, that nervous start killed us, and we just didn't have the cutting edge to grab the equaliser despite a few good chances. I felt we were pretty hard done by overall by the ref. I'd have forgiven him if he'd given what was a clear foul just outside the box to Troisi but it wasn't to be. Their 3rd goal was a top finish. Cahill and Bresciano were in vintage form and Leckie played very well I felt. Cahill was dominant in the air. I feel like Spain and Holland will destroy Chile if they can get some good crosses in. They just couldn't defend the crosses at all. Overall a bit sad with the result as we weren't far away from nicking a well deserved point, but happy with the performance. I was expecting a cricket score after they got a couple past us in quick succession.
  5. Here's hoping they turn up at the wrong ground. Go you Socceroos!
  6. Our best chance is to nick one early and then park the bus. We'll really struggle to get into scoring positions unless Tim Cahill goes into beast mode, and our defence is never far from being broken down. Too little talent, and too many injuries to the few talented players we have. I just hope we don't get totally embarrassed, although I could see Spain smashing us 7-0 or something.
  7. The names and numbers are black which would balance out a black sponsor, but claret was still the right choice
  8. Croatia getting robbed. The pen was disgraceful
  9. If you're not Spanish the only lasting memory is the vuvuzela
  10. We are more likely to finish the tournament with negative points than with positive points.
  11. Obviously if I had 35 billion I would buy the Aston Villa Football Club and mercilessly buy title after title after title
  12. Slightly off topic, although we were talking about great England kits earlier. I just had one of these shirts arrive from ebay today I've been looking for a Gabby Agbonlahor England kit for a few years now, so i'm absolutely over the moon to finally get one. The first Umbro kit i've owned as well, and it's a beauty! I'm telling you guys because I didn't get the positive reaction I wanted from my wife, who is growing concerned at the number of football shirts that i'm starting to build up in my wardrobe, with the new Villa away almost a certainty to join on release.
  13. Which is fair enough if that's how you feel. Personally I want someone who knows what they're doing in terms of running a club well, to make it the best it can be. Like you, I'm less fussed about billionaires or the super-rich. I've always been the same really, I don't want the club to be someone's toy, or someone's ego-prop, I want someone to run it well and for the right reasons. That's way more important than how wealthy they are, to me. If someone wants to throw their money at it, then fine, as long as they don't burden the club with obligations, or dispose of it's assets - the ground, training ground etc. Just cherish and take good care of it, for it's own sake. I actually think the last thing we need is someone who loves AVFC. I love AVFC and I can guarantee it is no qualification for running a football club I want someone who loves winning, making money, seeing his/her business enterprises make progress, getting more competitive with top clubs...and so on. They can be a bit "meh" about Villa for all I care. Yep I want a ruthless winner who will do whatever it takes to get the right people in place to make us successful.
  14. I'm going to wait until you guys tell me how they fit before I buy one. I want it to fit like Vlaar's, not Westwood's. Yikes.
  15. I know i'm a couple of days late, but given they warned the guy a couple of times, I have no issues with the mankad. You can't just run a third of the way down the pitch before the bowler has even gotten into his action. You definitely can't continue doing it after being warned. Got what he deserved.
  16. Even then, when City first got taken over they didn't go out and buy the 20 best players in the world the next morning. Even if the dream came true and we had a mega rich takeover, it would still be a process over a few years. Senderos could easily fit into that.
  17. Reading more about this, i'm probably more pleased with the reports of a slim fit design than I am with any of the trimmings. Claret and Blue, slim fitted. That's basically all I wanted. I may get this one now.
  18. Yeah it's pretty good I guess. Nothing special but certainly a good effort. Can't wait for the away
  19. Crusader Kings II is the best strategy game i've ever played. I should eventually get one of the converters to convert my last game of CKII to EU so I can continue
  20. If we were able to sign the likes of Barry and Milner as they are released from City (which I know is a pipe dream at the moment but perhaps with the knowledge we'll be sold they might be swayed), we'd instantly be a much, much better side. A fit Benteke and a strong central midfield pairing and we'd improve at least enough to keep us out of a relegation battle.
  21. I for one look forward to our Bollywood donut equivalent of the Blackburn Venkys ad.
  22. Guys Mendi's story totally checks out. When Ellison was first mentioned, people said he was a tough businessman who would have the vast majority of his wealth tied up in Oracle stock. It makes sense that he can't easily pay what Lerner is asking (and have enough to Man City us) so he's playing hardball with Lerner #StandByMendi #Pray4Mendi #MendiIsEllison
  23. Someone quote all of Delphinho's posts before he Kwans away
