  1. High waisted shorts. Seriously wtf is it like one of those women only facebook memes designed to "raise awareness" by trolling men? We hate it.
  2. I've not really posted much lately for much the same reasons. There's nothing to say that hasn't been said over and over and over again whatever your stance on the whole thing. The club has done the worst thing possible here... it's made me completely indifferent to what happens at the moment Yep. The mountain we need to climb to be relevant again in this league is looking bigger by the day and I have absolutely zero faith in anybody at the club outside of maybe the likes Grealish and Guzan to stick to the task and get us on the right track. I really like Lambert and I still feel like he was the right choice to hire at the time despite the noises that we sounded out Koeman, but how can I possibly support him given how alarmingly weak we've been? Watching matches is getting painful and there just doesn't seem to be any light on the horizon. The lack of a new owner was a huge killer in the offseason.
  3. I think I appreciated the Pixies more because I grew up in the 90s listening to Weezer, Nirvana and Radiohead, then I heard the Pixies and I as I listened to more and more I could hear where the bands I loved in the 90s had been influenced.
  4. Surely these days Muse and U2 aren't still considered overrated. I mean whose ratings are we talking about? The unwashed masses who flock to Pink concerts? They don't count. I think most people who liked Muse in 2005 probably don't like them anymore. They were my favourite band after Absolution but they're dead to me now. I can't think of anyone who genuinely likes U2 in 2014 who isn't also a fan of Pink and The Madden Brothers. The Beatles are genuinely amazing though and I can't believe they come up in a thread like this. They deserve all the praise they get.
  5. It worked for World Series Cricket. World football, both at club level and at international administration level, needs a massive shake up.
  6. Good to see we're swapping out our premiership quality players for championship quality players in preparations for next season.
  7. the English FA has always had this opinion that they are above FIFA and that is why they get treated shabbily. e.g. 1930 World Cup the home nations pulled out as they thought it wouldnt be as important without them and they should be the host. another example is when England had a FIFA president they ignored the lesser continents like Asia and Africa and thats how Havalange and Blatter got into power due to arrogance of English leadership you comment about strength of the English game is one of them comments that people like Blatter try to take down not that it means anything since they didnt win the vote for 2018 I'm not really sure what decisions made in 1930 have to do with the current predicament. The current predicament is that FIFA has been so openly corrupt and yet the corruption runs so deep that absolutely nothing is being done about it. Every football fan in the world who cares is frustrated with the current situation and yet FIFA bigwigs just shrug their shoulders, ignore their own investigators and continue to swim around in their vaults of money like Scrooge McDuck. If the latest in an ever more ridiculous line of corruption controversies wont initiate change, it's going to take something fairly monumental and it's going to take footballing nations pulling out of FIFA. England are nowhere near the biggest national team in the world, but the Premier League is the biggest league in the world. The FA scoffing at any sanctions imposed on them for their alleged corruption and pulling out of FIFA would cause enough of a ripple to bring FIFA down in it's current form IMO, and ultimately that would be a great thing for world football. There is surely nobody alive who follows football closely who genuinely believes that FIFA in their current state are good for the game. Just because England have put noses out of joint with their own self-importance in the past doesn't mean they should sit and twiddle their thumbs now and just hope it all works itself out. It wont.
  8. Who cares if other countries don't join England? Eventually a deal will be worked out. In the mean time just play the odd international friendly against composite sides and continue to rally against FIFA corruption. Worldwide unrest against FIFA corruption and the strength of the English game with regards to football across the globe is stronger than you think. People will petition their countries to join England if they go, especially as we approach 2022
  9. Yeah if FIFA are going to sanction the FA in any way, just pull out. If that means no European football or England internationals for a while so be it.
  10. I don't get the arcane voodoo magic that occured between Kirsten Dunst and Leslie Mann. I mean I can't prove that there was anything other worldly going on but it's a huge coincidence that Dunst went from being probably the hottest woman on the planet in Bring it On and Spiderman to very suddenly being decidedly average around 2005. Leslie Mann was a nondescript Hollywood comedy actress in her mid 20s who you'd barely remember from Cable Guy, George of the Jungle and Big Daddy then was suddenly a 15/10 god-tier supermilf from 40 year old virgin onwards. And she's only gotten better since then. Someone cast some sort of spell
  11. Can you expand a bit on the bolded please? Can you explain how our tactics work in relation to long term planning and where improvement is coming from? Performance is quite simply how competitive we are. If you watched our games but didn't see the score and left the room for each goal, what would your guess be as to the result? I know ultimately goals are goals and points are points and it doesn't really matter how you get them, but playing good football is ultimately more likely to get us points and goals. Sticking your fingers in your ears and ignoring that is fine I guess if we've got a longball anti-football manager who's only job is to keep us up, but that's not where we are as a club and that's not the sort of manager Lambert is supposed to be.
  12. Sushi. I mean it's okay but of all the things you could possibly eat why does anyone ever choose it.
  13. Breaking Bad. Season 2 is a reasonable slow burner but outside of that I found myself subconsciously picking up the remote to change the channel even though I was watching a DVD. Not an engaging character in the entire show.
  14. Did anyone else see this: Apparently the players are former teammates and FC Zurich is now taking Sandro to court over the injuries the Yapi Yapo received, which were basically car crash type injuries to his knee.
  15. I doesn't matter who the opposition is, you still have to find the back of the net, and to have a young lad on our books score a hattrick is brilliant news when we've scored one goal in seven.
  16. And our best goalscorer of the season so far is? Probably about 60th on the Premier League goalscoring list
  17. Partly but the main problem with Bent was a) not signing him during MON's time when the style of player suited him and seeing Young and Downing leave within 6 months of him joining, proven premier league creativity right there. Now we can't give him away which gives you an indication of how other teams view him. When he leaves on a free in the summer I'd be amazed if another prem club signed him. Can you imagine how quickly Bent would bite your hand off if you offered him the chance to avoid joining Aston Villa in 2011? He was just coming into his prime and looking like one of the better strikers in England. He's been absolutely ruined by Aston Villa.
  18. A point away to West Ham is passable if you look at the 0-0 score in a vacuum, but football isn't played in a vacuum and 0-0 doesn't exactly fill everyone with confidence when we've now scored once in 7 games and seemingly have no avenue to goal.
  19. Polish for England? Really? I wouldn't have picked that in 50 guesses, but i've never been to England in fairness.
  20. used to annoy me that Stephen Ireland is never bald in it When Luke Young was playing for us they always made him black in Pro Evo
  21. Obscure FIFA whinge of the day: When i'm playing career mode as a league 2 club that has advanced to the premier league, my sleeve badges and numbers are still football league badges and numbers. Surely it wouldn't be that hard to have them autoupdate when you move up or down divisions.
  22. Purely and simply, I want him gone because we've played far, far too much unacceptable football during his tenure. The style we play under him is crap, and the results are crap, so what exactly about his managing makes him worth keeping around? Losing to Bradford over 2 **** legs should have done it, but we've just had our worst run of games in 47 years. There is absolutely no excuse for that. Lambert is in his 3rd year and it's his squad. He can't improve us, all he can do is flap his arms around trying to tread water until we inevitably go down. Let's try something different.
  23. Well we didn't play well. Yes we had a bit go against us but you make your own luck in football and when you play like garbage usually you get the result you deserve
  24. **** as dumb as it gets. A red every day of the week
  25. Even if it wasn't all his fault today, that's 6 on the bounce and some of the most inept football all around I've seen since I've been watching the club. Time to go
