  1. I don't think Jackman's portrayal is so iconic that it can't be touched. He's done a great job, but even after Ledger's famed Joker performance, we've had Jared Leto and soon Joaquin Phoenix take on the role. The height is the thing that got me from the comics, Jackman is like 6'2 where as Wolverine is always described as short and nuggety.
  2. I'm not worried at this point, we just seem to have the right people in place. As others have said, I very much doubt Sawiris, Edens or Purslow get involved if we're teetering on the edge with no way around it.
  3. I still feel like we'll more than likely make the playoffs, but the automatic spots are gone bar an insane run of form. Losing Tammy really hurts but we'll still keep scoring, we just need to stop turning leads into 2-2 draws ffs.
  4. On the face of it Messi is a better pure footballer but the fact that he's played his entire career for an insanely good Barcelona side built around him with two of the best forwards in the world at any given time playing next to him makes him a bit boring to me. I have more respect for Ronaldo for proving himself for a variety of leagues and despite probably being slightly shaded in footballing talent, his legacy is greater for mine.
  5. Nunes must have fists like cinderblocks, you could tell Cyborg was rocked from really early on and just couldn't recover. An incredibly dominant win.
  6. He'll absolutely go straight in. If he wasn't going straight in we wouldn't have scouted a goalkeeper and bought one.
  7. Nothing wrong with a bit of arguing and venting after a loss or rubbing it in after a win, it's what message boards are for. If we all agreed all the time this would be a really boring place. I'm not tactically astute enough with football to really get into it on here, but on the Aussie Rules forum I post on I will definitely go after people who are posting garbage.
  8. I used to have the same thing as a goalkeeper to the point where i'd play it out to a fullback half the time to avoid dropping it short and putting myself straight back under pressure. I do think it's a dead ball thing, it just seems a lot easier to get purchase on a slowly moving ball, regardless of what direction it's moving in. That said I never had the problem with free kicks, but they were more about precision than distance.
  9. There is still so long to go so individual games aren't that critical at this stage, we just have to keep winning more than we draw and avoiding losses. I'm pretty sure we'll end up in the playoffs again, but this year we'll be the scary attacking side that can't really be stopped when on song. It's so much easier to be confident with this side under Smith (with reinforcements coming) than it was under Bruce.
  10. I can separate myself from the frustration of another City win, but I can't separate myself from my Liverpool supporting mates who will go on about winning the league forever. The only reason i'd like City to fall away really is because I want them to get in some FFP trouble and challenge it.
  11. What the flying **** was that at the end Elmo? We arguably should have scored a couple more times early in the 2nd half but we should have conceded a lot more times than we did as well. So many garbage defensive errors and poor efforts.
  12. YES!!!! What a move by Kodjia and a fantastic finish!
  13. Yep totally agree. Far more importance needs to be placed on the lineal title because it's really the only title that matters. Having so many belts muddies the waters way too much. The endless belts issue as well as some of the recent judging controversies have given MMA and UFC specifically a huge leg up as the biggest spectator combat sport.
  14. I live in Australia so flip flops are basically summer footwear for 90% of the population. I can't do no socks, partially because of the look but partially because I feel like i'll ruin my shoes more quickly. But again, I probably sweat more than you guys because it's Australia.
  15. Whenever I think of Veretout I remember we apparently signed him ahead of Leicester and although he's doing pretty well at Fiorentina now, I feel really bad for him that he came to dumpster fire Aston Villa and missed out on going down in footballing folklore with that Leicester side.
  16. Yeah as posted, it's the Mercator projection with countries scaled down to their actual relative size. The poles are enormously stretched out on the Mercator. What I find the most interesting about it is how absolutely massive Africa is compared to what you'd perceive from looking at the most common map projection.
  17. Oh this is brilliant, i'm stealing this! At the moment we'll do the loudest and longest farts possible and then blame our 1yo daughter, even when she's in a different room etc
  18. My pet hate in watching something like The Chase is when someone is asked to name a city and names a country or vice versa. How hard is it?
  19. Gary Gardner and Delfouneso both really disappointed me. The both had huge wraps as juniors and just couldn't translate that to senior football at all. Further back, Milan Baros. I remember thinking we were going to have a superstar strike pairing with him and Angel, but it just never materialised in the death throes of the Ellis era. God I used to score a lot of goals with him in FIFA though. Actually even with Angel my memories are probably fonder than the actual performance we got out of him.
  20. Completely agree, and I think this issue (and the fact that belts are totally meaningless) has been a huge leg up to MMA and in particular UFC in overtaking boxing as the most popular combat sport on the planet. I have no idea how the above could be achieved but as long as the entire sport is about making money and nothing else at the top level, we'll keep getting these obviously corrupt results.
  21. Yep! I love that we're quite happy to get into a shootout and put the pressure on teams to score 3 or 4 goals to beat us. Teams will eventually try to park the bus and hit us on the counter but we'll keep finding a way through with these players and this mentality in this division
  22. I watched one episode of this and the dude was a massive Rangers fan and the girl told them to do a big Celtic logo on his thigh. He was fuming. What an unbelievable arsehole you'd have to be to do that to a mate
  23. The absolute worst thing about the start of a relationship is the constant stomach ache from trying to hold farts in. It brings a tear to my eye to think it could go on for 5 years. The first fart in my relationship was less than a month in and it was followed by a dutch oven attempt which I was thankfully able to defend myself from.
