  1. Smith's stubbornness in not using substitutes is extremely frustrating. Probably bad for squad management as well. A major weakness in his management.
  2. Looked like a Pen to me. We would be livid if it was not given to us.
  3. really want to see what Smith does second half. Hope he uses substitutes to change the tactics around, which he doesn't have a penchant for doing.
  4. I don't think the issue is the players on the bench, but more Smith failing to use substitutions tactically. Can't recall a single time a substitute changed the complexion of a game for us this season. Yet El Ghazi, Trez, Hause, Nakamba, etc. have all played well when they've been given a chance - so it's clearly not the lack of quality on the bench. Look at Burnley, they turned the game around by bringing on the likes of Cork and Vydra - far from world beaters.
  5. Send him out on loan! What can we possibly expect him to do with 5 minutes here and there??!!
  6. This team is such a joy to watch. Let's put this game to bed early second half.
  7. We are at full strength, no excuses. Really need to get a result here if we plan to challenge for Europe. With Sanson joining the club, hoping the midfield really step it up today.
  8. Can definitely see an Elmo extension given his versatility and nationality. Also given his age he probably is not desperate for playing time.
  9. Think we are getting carried away. Yes - we have a solid starting XI, but I think only 4-5 of our players are Champions League level - Grealish, Martinez, Luiz and possibly Konsa and Watkins.
  10. Exactly. Flow of the game would have been completely different. Same with the GLT in the Sheffield United game that supposedly saved us from relegation.
  11. They also said that Watkins goal was fine because Shar was not impeded by Watkins when touching the ball. So does that mean that if Shar left the cross alone, it would have been an offside? That makes no sense to me, as it would basically encourage a defender to back-off if he thinks there is an offside. Anyway - I thought Watkins was onside because he was behind the ball when it was crossed.
  12. This type of stuff will happen occasionally. Just have to live with it. One of Spurs' top defensive prospects in their academy decided to go to MLS last year and has since been signed by Bologna.
  13. Club probably sees a lot of potential in Gemma but feel she needs an experienced hand in the short-term.
  14. Trez fits in well against clubs in the top-half. Traore the clubs in the bottom-half.
  15. If we win, is it credited to Dean Smith or whoever is leading us on the touchline?
  16. We've had our chances. The fullbacks have played well. Traore seems so lost defensively - always getting his angles wrong. Missing Trez here.
  17. Have a feeling we will be raring to go and are going to shock City.
  18. Just circled June 6, 2021 in my diary.
  19. I give them a pass this year. They've lost three of their best players from last season in Jiminez, Jota and Doherty. I do agree that a lack of progression might create a "Randy Lerner" effect at the club where the owners lose interest after realizing that you need billions and not just millions to be competitive and developing an international brand only works when you have superstar players and a winning team. PS: I always cringe when foreigner owners buy an English club and talk about international marketing - latest being the new Burnley investors. No one in China or India cares about you unless you are lifting trophies or have world class players in your ranks. Even Leicester City hardly moves the needle in Asia despite their Thai owners. Yes, they have a few Thai sponsors but that relates to the owners business links in the country and has little to do with the LCFC brand.
  20. Any reason all these boys are going to the Conference? Would think there are League 1 and 2 clubs that would want them.
  21. Looking at the updated schedule, we really have a favorable run of matches after Man City where we can pick up a lot of points and really be in the conversation for the European places. Hopefully Covid does not slam the breaks on us.
  22. As someone previously wrote, hope this encourages the club to cover the youth teams more and broadcast their matches.
  23. Honestly thought we would lose by double-digits. Wonderful performance. Hope a few of these kids get an opportunity to play in League 2 or 1 in the second half of the season. Will be fun to follow their journey.
  24. I was hopeful of a couple of transfers in the winter, but given the Covid outbreak and its potential consequences, I just want to get through this season, have everyone vaccinated and go for a few blockbuster signings in the summer.
