Beating Arsenal to one of their prime targets would be quite a statement.

Earned it with some stunning performances in the championship to be fair. Wouldn’t be where we are now without them, and for that reason I would like him to be backup to Emi and not bother with a different keeper.

Did a good job for us in his time with us. Probably one of the more productive transfers from that first batch of players we signed in the championship. Certainly we had a better deal than Swansea did with Ayew.

Yep. The idea that Arsenal will spend £35-40mil on Buendia is a bit unrealistic. That’ll be well over 50% of their budget. Financially they can’t compete with Villa (but you are right there are other factors). Feels good to say established teams can’t compete with us for a change.

Worth bearing in mind a lot of clubs (Arsenal, Spurs etc) don’t like doing their business early. If a player is on £100k the difference between signing him in June and August could be in excess of £1.2mil in wages.

Rumour is Neves is being sold by Wolves for £35m. I know he’s likely off to a Champions League club, but that is a bargain and would be worth every penny just to see their fans reaction.

Dougville does have a ring to it. Agree with the contempt for his tenure though, I have no doubt Doug would have benefitted personally from that land, and could never have seen him have the vision to do what Wes and Nassef are doing with this academy. -

Fans love a player that runs their heart out. It’s not difficult to love Ollie. 14 league goals is a great debut season return, especially with our most creative midfielder out for months.

Mine was predicting that Marlon Harewood could play for “900minutes” after coming on against Liverpool and not score….10 seconds before scoring a bicycle kick against them to help salvage a draw for us.
