  1. Or if Arsenal fans are to be believed, the new Can’te
  2. I think he probably would be from the point of view that top teams are interested. If anything I think signing Bissouma might make it easier to sign top players in the summer, as does Coutinho.
  3. Some of the diving in that game earlier was atrocious, and Trez was at the centre of a lot of it. Glad he’s playing again though.
  4. Would signing Bissouma be a serious sign of intent?
  5. Whatever happens tomorrow, at least we can rest safe in the knowledge that Jim White no longer works at Sky.
  6. I think we have been used here by agents to flush out bids.
  7. Ellis would have told Bentancur that he invented the bicycle kick, offered him £15k a week and this transfer would have been completed by now. When I say completed I mean he’d have signed Tony Cascarino instead because he’s cheaper and “nearly as good”.
  8. £6.5m for a league one player. That is insane if remotely true. Worth bearing in mind we paid a similar fee for Delph.
  9. Am absolutely amazed Doug’s plans didn’t involve making the Doug Ellis Stand into a 30k capacity stand for his own gratification. I wonder if the hold ups in releasing the new plans are linked to recent infrastructure failings, namely the transport issues.
  10. If it’s not announced by his dad on a YouTube live video, then I’m not interested.
  11. You would think Brighton could ill afford to let him go for free, so you may be right.
  12. Could be. I suspect this will end with Villa paying him inflated wages on a new deal, which he hasn’t yet earned. RHP earned himself a £10k per week contract all those years ago despite never starting a league game. £10k probably worth £25-30k in todays market.
  13. The name Rushian Hepburn-Murphy should be in mind during negotiations.
  14. Think this may well be the driving force behind us paying ~£40m now despite any off field concerns. Would improve us dramatically.
  15. Great player, legitimate off field concerns. Would be an immense signal of intent from the club. Next season we could be a force.
  16. Wow. Never heard of that before. Probably the most compelling story I’ve heard to back up banning blades instead of studs.
  17. Think this transfer may have legs, but it’s going to cost us a club record fee by some margin.
  18. Could be interesting to see if the calibre of players interested in joining improves with Gerrard here. Would not be surprised to see a hefty spend in January, considering our break even summer.
  19. Anything less than a 4-0 win for Villa will be a great result for Burnley.
  20. Makes you think what could have been if we had beaten Wolves and Southampton in that dreadful run. Then again, would we have won 4 out of the last 6 without the management change.
  21. Would probably take £1.5mil at this stage, let alone £15m. wasn’t entirely his fault of course, but it’s not going to happen here for him.
  22. Sanson and Buendia to start. Purely because both of them will be fired up to prove a point, albeit to different people.
  23. Important to note that after the Liverpool game, the sides we are yet to play in the first round of fixtures are Norwich, Leeds and Burnley. Probably the lowest average position run of fixtures in the league. I know they are not the next three fixtures, but the point stands. If we maintain our good form, there are 9 points to be had there, and we could conceivably be looking at top 7. Having said this, we will probably beat Liverpool and get a point from those three now.
