  1. Beating Bournemouth would really put pressure on Spurs - but I guess the danger is taking that for granted after today’s performance. Brentford could be the best thing that happened to us.
  2. Lost for words on this man. His work with us just highlights the ridiculous abuse for what it was when he was at Arsenal. The best manager we have had in the Premier League era, and perhaps for a long time before that also.
  3. If Utd fail to beat Bournemouth today it would have been like a win for us. Excellent stuff.
  4. Newcastle is a wonderful city filled with wonderful people. But I hope they don’t get carried away and that they lose next week.
  5. That is true, but it’s the lost opportunity for future coefficient points in the next two rounds that will hurt us. I think you’re right, Arsenal vs Bayern is a playoff of sorts for us.
  6. Just wait for West Ham and Leverkusen’s game. This thread will bring the internet down.
  7. Relax. No way United see this out, and even if they do they still won’t catch us.
  8. We’ve all been bitten a lot of times in the past with optimism, but the stats and probabilities make it incredibly likely we are top 5 now. We’ve just got to bite the bullet and support Liverpool and City in European competitions now to give us a fall back of 5th place.
  9. If 5th becomes enough, and say we beat Brentford this weekend and Utd lose to Liverpool, Villa mathematically would only need 7 points from 6 games to be certain of qualification - and that’s if Utd win all their remaining 7 games.
  10. A free hit. If we do win and Utd fail to tomorrow night - well I won’t say it, but you know what I’m thinking.
  11. Plymouth have been shocking since Foster took over, but they were hurt by us recalling Azaz and Kesler In January. I don’t think Souza is quite having the experience of Azaz or Kesler there. Warnock likely to be incoming, and he’s not famous for bloody kids in relegation battles.
  12. This kid is 20 years old. Hes going to be one hell of a player by the end
  13. Grew into it today. Those boss runs were great, but I felt his decision making wasn’t great. Could have released the ball earlier. That said, he’s making good progress. I can see why Emery likes him.
  14. What a performance. That run for the second goal should start to dispel some of the commonly held views on his fitness and output - inside and outside of Villa fans.
  15. On companies house NSWE Stadium Ltd show a consistent annual turnover of £2.6m. It’s fair to assume that is the rent ‘we’ pay to play at Villa park. That probably is about market rate, so a new shiny stadium would probably cost us £4-5m a season, which would start to become a noticeable percentage of our turnover
