    Samuelson made £3m from the Villa sale. Three million pounds. Tony and whoever really owned us were at best chancers, and at worst criminals. Becoming quite clear that whoever bought the club was gambling, go up in two years and sell the club for a profit.

    I’m at the stage where this feels very much like the start of the Moneyball story. yes losing our superstar is painful, but the possibilities that presents are exciting. Are we a better side with Jack Grealish, or better with all the signings we’ve made plus potentially JWP, Abraham and another left field signing? Unemotionally, selling Grealish could be the best thing we ever do.

    I think the club need to make a statement one way or the other. Give an impression we have some handle on what is happening. If NSWE came out and said he’s leaving but we are still on course and going to invest every penny of it fans would become excited again, albeit sad Jack is leaving.

    The bids for midfielders such as Ward Prowse, ESR and potentially Cantwell, alongside the numbers of midfielders we already have, probably tells us that Sanson is not fancied by management right now. Which is a shame as he hasn’t had a clear run.

    Club could come out now and publicly say they are not selling at any price. That would put Jack in a corner, because any subsequent move would be publicly driven by him.

    Embarrassment. Terrible attitude, and should really be working overtime to catch up and impress considering his hard luck with injury. But no. Seems like he doesn’t belong in our squad either.
