    Very much this. Win 5 or 6 games in the cup and secure European qualification the 'easy' way or get involved in a 38 game slog with ultimately a similar reward. (I don't think we show enough consistency to be genuine Champions League qualification contenders). Go for silverware, and the momentum gained from good cup runs will help maintain a push in the league. Sick and tired of successive managers mugging supporters off with needless rotations. Everton, for all their current woes, are a better team IMO than Legia Warsaw - if we go for a similar defensive set up to last week then expect the same shitshow.

    Dear Mr Heck, A few thoughts ; 1. Can you get a company that can make shirts that don't look like we've walked through a car wash even though we've only won a corner. 2. Its an Aston Villa badge mate - it needs a lion and not much else - it can't be that f**kin hard surely to God. 3.     If you think this, you are deluded. In my opinion obvs. The striker situation should have been sorted out 2 transfer windows ago. Longer we wait, the more we'll eventually end up spending.

    I think we have to face up to the fact that our summer recruitment, with the exception of Diaby, may not have been the stellar window that some people claimed. Take a few select personnel out and we're as weak as piss. This sitting back and inviting players on, so we can pass round or through them wil only work with quick movement and snap in the passes. We're slow, ponderous and seem to escape any kind of opposition press, more by luck than judgement or skill. We never look after the ball after we've recycled possession and we seem to make the same mistakes with alarming regularity. We seem to be the archetypal flat track bullies against ĺesser sides who display little or no attacking ambition. Run at us, press hard and whip crosses in and our defence looks like it consists of players who've never met before. Much to do Emery.....and fast.

    As a couple of people have also alluded to, I don't think this package (for want of a better word) is badly priced at all. I've had to attend similar types of hospitality 'offerings' through work, at a number of different grounds and also other sports, including football, cricket, horse racing etc. that were far more expensive for the same sort of deal. We can debate the moralities of turning regular supporter facilities into hospitality areas all day, but the pricing of this package is very competitive and as someone who can no longer commit to going as much as I'd like due to work commitments, it would be an attractive option for me. But in no way should that allow the club a free pass to neglect existing supporter facilities - the club should be using any meaningful profits from these kind of ventures to significantly upgrade what is currently offered to loyal, regular supporters in terms of catering and welfare facilities in the main stands and concourses.

But all that we bought was McNaught...' I think this is known as a collectively humiliating mis-assessment of a player who went on to be a club legend.     I think most Chelsea deals are plain daft, but this might turn out to be half decent business - big fee but I think this kid could be an exceptional talent. (Sorry, should probably be in other football).

    Reading a few so-called 'sources' on New Now site, apparently we're still in for Nuno Tavares from Arsenal ? Notwithstanding the fact that he's not very good, Arsenal are allegedly looking for £22m.........for a player they paid £8m for and can't get anywhere near their team. No thanks.

    Not a fan of that away kit at all....looks like a white kit that ended up with my jeans in the washing machine. The home kit is crap, but havent liked any of the home shirts since the Luke version. As for the 3rd kit....it's that crap, it might be good...its growing on me lol.

    Think our ticketing department may not have a genius in its ranks - according to Hibs fans forum, their fans are snapping up tickets all over VP, by simply creating dodgy accounts - can't see this ending well if there's little pockets of mullered Hibees dotted around the ground.....

    Exactly this. We haven't picked up some chancer on a whim......good sides have looked at this guy and either haven't had the financial clout or bottle to take a punt on him. If all goes to plan we'll have broken the outgoing Turkish transfer record by some margin to have got him.
