I love our fans too. Davis has scored 1 PL goal in 34 appearances (admittedly a lot were off the bench). Goes on loan, has a few decent performances until he's inevitably injured (yet again) and some Villa fans think he's morphed into Sadio Mane mk2. Archer will have more PL goals by bonfire night if we keep him with us next season.

Couldn't agree more....it's easy for us to get excited after a few championship games and U21 appearances, but I (and a few of us in the pub) have seen enough of this lad to hope he isn't loaned out next season. He's good enough to challenge the other front 2 on his own merits......he's hungry, two footed, decent in the air and doesnt give defenders a minutes peace. It would be daft to think his development would be better served trolling around the championship - he needs to be challenging for a premier league spot with us and even if not a regular starter, with 5 subs he should be on the pitch most weeks.

If it's Davis, we may as well give up. Archer is the future as far as our young lads are concerned....

Not sure we'd get £50m for McGinn (but wouldn't surprise me, in a world where Gylfi Sigurdsson is worth that) but I suspect that we could reasonably expect to get £30m for a centre half we paid over £20m for, who has since spent 3 years in the Prem and accrued 17 England caps......he's still only 29 not 32.

I never thought I'd be in a parallel universe where the prospect of playing Keinan Davis over Luis Suarez could actually be possible ? God help us......

Pretty underwhelmed by that performance, but its been the same for most of the season. Not trying to be overly pessimistic but really not seeing any sustained improvement. The speed of pass tonight basically resembled an end of season testimonial performance - big changes required, but not sure if we have the right personnel (from DOF down) to identify what's needed and how to implement it. I'm not a stats man but I'd really like it if one of the guys on here had numbers on forward / sideways / backwards passes. We just seem so negative and 'unbrave' on the ball. I'm just staggered that the passing triangle between Mings/Konsa/Cash hasn't worn grooves in the pitch....

...is he any relation to the Malcolm Melvin who was a local boxer ?
