  1. Another ‘lockdown’, great. I’d be seething if I worked in the hospitality sector. Most people I know won’t follow any rules about not socialising so it’s basically just a lockdown on pubs, restaurants etc. These half measures don’t achieve much. But of course, when cases start to fall, like they always do, it’ll be because of our wonderful government imposing these necessary curbs on our freedom. Fed up.
  2. When is the next leak? They're everso exciting. I still think the best is yet to come
  3. Watkins hasn't been anywhere near as good as Cash. Martinez has had a decent season, as has Konsa. Still probably not at the levels they were last year, mind. McGinn is the only one who you could argue has been as good as Cash this season. Cash has been superb.
  4. Our right back is our best player. Why would we spend money there for?
  5. The beautiful thing about what’s happening at the moment, and I’m convinced about this, is that there is an individual or a group of individuals out there that are leaking all of these photos and this evidence of Xmas parties and the Tory party have absolutely no idea what to do about it. It can’t be a coincidence that these stories of Xmas parties were leaked… before Xmas. It’s all designed to put Johnson in an impossible position, especially around Covid and any further lockdowns. He’s absolutely powerless and has lost all authority on the topic because he’ll be seen as a hypocrite with any action he takes. Every other day, something new is leaked. He’s hired this chap to Investigate the parties, oh, he was at the parties? Somebody has the Tory party by the balls at the moment. The North Shrops by election result is evidence of the damage that is being inflicted onto Johnson and co. at the moment. And I’m here for the ride. Enjoying every minute of it.
  6. Genuine question. With this new variant and obviously plenty more to come, how many jabs are people going to actually need? Is there a point where we run out of arms to put needles into? I’ve heard stories of Pfizer saying we’ll need three more on top of the two we already have… I guess that’s the thing that worries me. That this never ends and we just keep injecting people every time a new variant comes along. I can’t really say this pandemic has affected my mental health and I’ve been lucky enough to have had employment throughout, but there are times when I think, are things ever going to be normal again? Are we ever going to go through a day where we don’t have statistics thrown at us without context? I can see why this has affected so many. One of the worst things about it all is that the topic of Covid has elevated itself onto a similar platform as politics and religion. Everyone has an opinion. It’s a poisonous topic to even discuss at work or down the pub because people are so militant about what the right and wrong thing to do is. It’s changed people. Nowadays, if it’s mentioned, I just stay quiet.
  7. McGinn is good but he’s not Grealish good. He can have ambitions of playing in Europe but not sure he gets into a top team.
  8. I'd argue our results have been better than our performances...(If that makes sense?!). There has been a lot to like about what Gerrard and Beale have implemented, none more so than how harder we are to play through. Teams simply aren't waltzing through the middle of the park against us and peppering Martinez' goal. They identified that straight away. I also like the narrow 10's formation where the full backs are expected to offer a lot going forward. Cash has excelled. We do need to be better in possession though. This will come, but at the moment we need to start doing what we did to Norwich against better teams. We were also superb in the second half against Leicester. The future is bright. If we get the next couple of signings spot on then we can challenge for top 8 next season.
  9. I'd argue Aribo was Rangers best player, not Kamara.
  10. It was a loan that never really made sense for Utd or the player. For us, fine as a third choice central defender and makeshift 6 but why they allowed him to come here when Mings and Konsa are so set is beyond me. He was never displacing Konsa and Mings is our leader in the back 4.
  11. That’s all well and good and as much as I think people should be vaccinated, I think it’s disgraceful that a company won’t pay an employee unless he gets an injection against his/her will. I’m firmly against Vaccine passports/Mandates.
  12. If we create half as many chances as we did against them at Villa park last season and actually score from a few of them then we’ll win 14 nil.
  13. They’re rubbish. We should win and if we score first, we will.
  14. I actually agree with you on this. I thought Watkins was very poor in that role, but it's to be expected as he isn't a no.10. Also, as much as I thought it was the wrong move, we won 2-0 and he scored from that position....so what do I know!
  15. We've actually managed to assemble quite a large squad with different options in each position. The problem we now have is going to be moving players on and upgrading. For example, we probably need a new no.10/LWF but when you look at it on paper, we have Carney, Buendia, El Ghazi, Traore, Trezeguet and Bailey who play in those positions. Within that group, you have a prodigious young talent, our record signing, an extremely talented yet frustrating player and a player from the Bundesliga who may be a superstar when given time to settle. If you sign a player to play in that position, where does he fit in? What does it mean for the other players I've just mentioned. We really need to be looking to move the likes of Trezeguet, El Ghazi and possibly even Traore on in the next couple of windows to create space for either the young players we have or players we need to push to the next level. The priorities for me in the next window are a new LB as good as M. Cash and a defensive midfielder as good as Ndidi, Rice, Bissouma etc. Most of our good attacking play now comes from the overlaps our fullbacks make - just the way Liverpool play. If we could really improve on Targett (who I think is a decent player), then offensively we will go up a level. The defensive midfielder position is another obvious one. If we could get someone to do the same job as Nakamba but with the poise and elegance of Luiz, we would manage to dictate games more. It's a tricky one. We've made some very good signings since being promoted but also spent a lot of money that perhaps could have been better invested elsewhere. I'll be interested to see how we operate in the next two transfer windows.
  16. I’ll be honest, I thought he was abysmal last night, the goal aside. He’s so hot and cold at the minute.
  17. All this lad lacks is confidence. He has absolutely all the tools in his locked to have a very good career in the PL. I’m hoping this goal will spur him on to go and get more because he can carry the ball better than most in our side and with that eye and taste for goal, he could be deadly. Turning into a fabulous player.
  18. Can see him starting Saturday. We’re a little depleted at the moment. This could be his big chance. As others have said, the system suits him. It’s his time to shine!
  19. Well that’s a whole different conversation.
