If we could get rid of him as part of the deal that would be absolutely fantastic. Let’s be honest, he’s mostly rubbish and he’ll only weaken Everton. I can’t see him being part of the deal because Everton couldn’t be that stupid.

I’m merely picking our best match day squad when every player is fit. Of course they won’t all be fit at the same time so Traore might make the bench. But, he’s not in the squad for me when the best players are available and I’m absolutely positive he’ll be moved on in the summer, as will Trezeguet and El Ghazi. Come on, we’re signing players like Coutinho and Digne and linked to Bissouma. We’ve moved on from the absolutely average wingers we’ve been lumbered with for years.

Why isn’t it? If we play the system I think we will, we’ll probably be starting Buendia and Coutinho and Bailey will be on the bench. One of Ings and Watkins will be starting so one of these will be on the bench. That leaves 5 spaces. Probably taken up by Sanson, Steer, Targett, Hause, Chukwuemeka and Nakamba. I don’t see a future for Traore, Trezeguet and El Ghazi. None are good enough.

Yeh. ‘Great’. Will struggle to make the bench when everybody is fit.

Can they take Traore and Trezeguet too? We’ll give them £30m then.

I think I’d wet myself if we signed Bissouma. He’s such a class player.

Genuinely excited by Kessler Hayden. The Gerrard/Klopp system has reinvented exactly what full backs are and what their role is. They’re expected to cover the entire side of the pitch. On the front foot when we attack and almost further forward than the 10’s and expected to defend when we’re on the back foot. Look at the amount of assists TAA and Robertson get at Liverpool. That’s what Gerrard wants. The two 6’s (in our case Ramsey and McGinn) are in there to cover when they bomb on. Look at the way Liverpool do it. They almost play 3 defensive midfielders in Thiago, Henderson and Fabinho. They allow Robertson and Alexander Arnold to almost play as wingers up front alongside Salah and Mane. Kessler will benefit from this system due to his athleticism and speed.

He’s perfect for what Gerrard wants. An attacking full back who seems to have improved his defending. I’m a big fan of Cash but he’ll do well to keep this kid from getting more and more game time. Kessler is very quick as well and I think Gerrard wants pace down the flanks. It’s just a damn shame he isn’t a left back because Cash has been very good this season!

For what it’s worth, I don’t actually think we play with one 6 and two 8’s with Gerrard. We actually play with two 6’s and one 8 because the fullbacks are expected to attack and the two 6’s come across to cover their advances. In my mind anyway. ——————-Luiz—————— Bissouma—————McGinn Might even end up being something like that. Or if you’re really fanciful, Coutinho as the 8 instead of Luiz.

Oddly enough, the furore caused by this accusation might be one of the reasons we are in the race. A few clubs that might have been interested may not be because of what is going on. Perhaps we’re just being very pragmatic about it all and taking a view on the situation others refuse to. Who knows. He will 100% leave Brighton in the Summer, so it’s just a case of whether they will accept a bid now they feel is fair value and bring the money forward to spend on some of their own targets. You have to remember, they have a very good success rate with signing cheaper players and turning them into better, more valuable assets. Bissouma being case and point. They may feel they can sign the next Bissouma for £10m and therefore it’s win win. Personally, I don’t see this deal being done in January and I don’t think we’d be in the race if it were left until the Summer. It’s also a link from Sky Sports. How bizarre that they’ve become the bottom feeders when it comes to speculation. 10 years ago, this link/source would have been held in much higher regard. FWIW, I think he’s probably one of the best midfielders in the league and would massively improve us and our ability to keep the ball better. We have some decent midfielders but we’re still overly careless in possession.

I think Chelsea want to loan him and Everton want to sell. He’s also categorically not going to Newcastle according to Romano. So, I believe it’s between us and West Ham perhaps? I think the Digne deal will be one we pursue all window and if we can agree a fee with Everton, we’ll do the deal. We shouldn’t be paying any more than £20m though and even that’s steep considering the circumstances. I think if he finds form though he’s up there with Robertson and Chilwell etc in terms of ability. Think this will drag.

I think that’s harsh. He was just saying the club should do it’s due diligence and if they feel he’s innocent, just like Ched Evans was, then it’s worth pursuing. Or at least enquiring!

We don’t need to make our squad anymore bloated. We need to ship players like Trez, El Ghazi and Traore out and allow players like Buendia, Bailey, Coutinho and Chukwuemeka to compete.

He was always a standout in the youth team. I’ve said it for a while, I think Kessler, Carney and Ramsey. A will all make it as PL footballers. I wouldn’t rush KH back yet though. For once, let’s do this properly. Get him on loan next year to a Championship side. Build him up the right way. The kid has a big future.

From what I’m reading, Brighton want to sell Bissouma this window to maximise his value. There are also a few murmurings we’re interested. What would it take? £40m? £50m? Brighton are a well run club and they won’t let him run his contract down. If we’re confident he only accidentally felt those women up at the bar, I can see us trying to do something in this window. Would be an unreal signing.
