Bissouma would be the best player we could possibly hope to sign in that deep lying midfield role. He's a fantastic player. I can't see it happening, and if it does, it will cost us £40m+. Bissouma and Hickey/Digne and it would be an unbelievable window.

I've had this feeling too. Now, I don't for one second think it will happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if we'd enquired. Leeds desperately need to invest in their squad and they have very little money to do so. £35-45m through the door for Kalvin Phillips (pure profit on their books) will help them sign 2/3 players to do just that. Like I say, I can't see it happening, but stranger things have happened. Like Coutinho moving to Villa.

Yes, I would like Digne. Two winners who’ve played at the top level would really add to our side. I think the defensive midfielder position probably needs to be more of a data driven, properly scouted purchase in the region of £25-£30m. I don’t know who that person is but Coutinho will help!

Question with these things is, we've obviously agreed a fee, or at least a fee with parameters based on performance/success. What about the player? Is an option to buy basically the player saying he's happy to stay longer as long as he proves himself and the club want to exercise the option? I'm just of the mindset that it's a worthless option if Coutinho plays well and several bigger clubs come sniffing and offer him higher wages? Does the buy option include the player also tying himself to the club?

My only hope is it's longer than a 6 month loan. I would be surprised if it is though. I think it will be 6 months with an option to buy perhaps at an agreed fee?

If we can get this Coutinho transfer wrapped up in the next couple of days, it’s going to be a helluva lot easier to attract and sign players in Jan. A real statement signing. Who wouldn’t want to play with Coutinho?!

Luis? Big Peruvian Villa fan based out in the states. Absolutely loves the Villa and works in the media over there. He just comes across as a top bloke.

Shut up about Phillips. Who cares. We’re about to sign the 2nd most expensive player ever before he turns 30.

So it’s costing us roughly £15m then. That’s a very expensive loan, but if you compare it signing someone as good, that would probably cost you £50-85m in transfer fees and millions on top of that in wages. Yes, it’s a costly loan but it’s still unreal value. £15m for a player this good for 18 months?!? Yes please!

You laugh, but the hard part is convincing him to actually come here. Once the players wants to join and the board know they can afford said player, its just formalities then. This will get done.

It was definitely north or 200k we offered Grealish, which I thought was an unbelieveable amount and would convince him to stay. Then I heard City were offering him north of 300k a week. Incredible sums of money really.

I think this will get done, and before the UTD game too. You have to remember that Barca can't afford this to drag on for two reasons. 1. They need to register Torres so the sooner the better. 2. Every day he is there, he is costing them around 50,000 euros (mental). We're going to do this, I just hope it's a loan that runs for circa 12 months with an option to buy.
