  1. As much as I love Ian Botham, the fact that he is in favour of leaving makes me feel a bit better about voting to stay in. As for the fear thing, I'm getting fed up of hearing about it. I'm not scared either way, we will find a way of coping whichever way the vote goes. If they spend the time they give to accusing the other side of fear tactics on providing decent facts then I'd be a lot happier.
  2. **** agents, I hate them. I don't see what possible good it does to come out with that right now, it doesn't make him more likely to move by saying it, just pisses off fans who in the main consider him to have been one of the few to give their all this season.
  3. As far as I can tell the media love Pearson and they all seem to want to give him the job. They love someone that has a go back so they can create more stories out of it. Personally I don't think how they perform in front of the media is that big an issue, I think Pearson would do a decent job with us, but then I wouldn't say anything he has done in his managerial career is any better than Lambert, for example. I'm not sure I really buy into the discipline thing either. I'd put him in the pack behind Moyes as my favoured option, but so much depends on what the people above the manager let him do to rebuild the squad.
  4. I think it should largely be a case of you got us in this mess, you get us out, unless clubs come in and offer proper money for the likes of Ayew. Then we can spend on a few solid Championship specialists and perhaps a couple of young potential stars, and if we can add a couple of our own youngsters to the first team squad then all the better.
  5. Tim Sherwood is many things, but I don't think he's a woman.
  6. Symptomatic of the mess we've been in. Signed without speaking the language with a pregnant wife living in a hotel, a manager and assistant who had little intention of helping him settle into English football, then a manager who tried to get the best out of him with a tiny bit of success, who they then didn't back and then sacked, then the caretaker has binned him again. Shit all round really.
  7. Even Senderos showed more for us. He seemed to properly care and he's played 8 full 90 minutes in a row back in Switzerland before being suspended. In fact things fell apart when he and Vlaar got broken up last season. As for what Lescott said there, I won't hammer him for it. Whatever someone says after relegation is going to be hard to swallow, it's the context of what's gone before that winds me up.
  8. Hopefully their relegation wage decrease clause kicks in now. It's a shame but the anger left me a long time ago and relegation was accepted by the club in January. Onwards and upwards, let's get a new manager in now.
  9. It's highly likely that he is just watching Rashford.
  10. How about: Steer; new right back, Okore, Clark, Cissokho; Gana, Westwood; Adama, Grealish, Amavi; Gestede
  11. By all accounts Lowton has had a decent season at Burnley and I'd probably feel more comfortable with him at right back next season than any of our options. I see Westwood similarly, both players were effectively having to punch above their weight in the Prem but I think Ash would do a decent job next season and I'm sure whoever comes in as manager will value him. Even with the shambles this season, a bit of continuity is needed and as far as I'm aware Westwood's attitude has always been good.
  12. 16 chocolates for a pound, I'd be more worried about where the cream comes from than the strawberry.
  13. Urgh. Do they have a token normal chocolate in it?
  14. Hmmm, do you not worry that we had a second Graham Taylor already and it was a bit of a disaster?
  15. To be fair Liverpool have played half decent since I turned on, just lacking the class of an Aubemeyang. To think we could have signed him at one stage couldn't we? Lallana's air shot was hilarious though.
  16. I applied to go on Pointless with my mate and got a phone call about a year later asking for us to audition, only he'd sold his mobile to his sister who told them to **** off when they tried ringing him. I've never forgiven either of them for that.
  17. His fitness coach sounds like a ball buster, and Remi pretty quickly banished Grealish to the reserves and Gabby to wherever he went. Don't forget Roy Keane didn't last long with the likes of Gabby either because he was too tough, as with Karsa and Culverhouse (rightly or wrongly). I think part of the problem is that the English/domestic players were getting a harder time than the newer foreign signings, whereas under Tim it was the other way round. We need someone who can either get rid of one group or somehow unite them. I'd rather get rid of the Champagne Charlies than the likes of Gana, Veretout, Ayew, Gil, Adama and Amavi who I think with a bit of momentum from a promotion would do well back in the Prem. But there's a lot of work to do before then. I don't necessarily think Pearson is a bad choice, it just rams home how far we've fallen. It almost cements the fact that we are a Championship standard football club.
  18. I'd also be a bit wary about those allegations about the PEDs at Leicester. The last thing we want is to have more distractions next season.
  19. Last week all the management at our place went out for a training day. It turned out that they'd gone ten pin bowling as a bonding exercise. Bunch of clearings in the woods.
  20. Yeah I think he lost the ball over 100 times in that match or something daft. I can't believe Man Utd paid so much for him and were lucky to get so much for him from PSG.
