  1. I think another club will come in for Remi in the summer so that everyone saves as much face as possible. I suspect whoever replaces him will be pretty depressing.
  2. I hope the club back the Gabby, Guzan, Richards and Lescott faction! That would be marvellous, and how dare this fellow come over from abroad and try to make them into professionals.
  3. Leicester also spent £9m on Kramaric, it's silly comparing everything to the Mahrez deal. I don't think it was £20m for those two and I don't think they have been disasters either. Plus don't forget we could only sign players because we found Benteke in the first place and could sell him at 3 or 4 times what we paid, to which Reilly deserves some credit. Even the likes of Ayew and Amavi this summer we could probably make a profit if we sold them. Like I say, I don't think Reilly himself has done that badly, it's a whole mixture of things wrong culturally at the club that has led to our downfall which won't change until we are sold.
  4. I think it would be a bit harsh on Reilly, if he was given an objective to find cheap players around Europe that we could hope to develop a team around and sell on for a profit, then I don't think he has done that badly. The whole culture has been the problem and that's down to Lerner and Fox, who have made bad decision after bad decision and nothing will change until the club is sold.
  5. I think he mentioned that to his friends in the press. As far as I'm aware he made a list of players he wanted, so did the scouts, then they worked out who was affordable and likely to come. The likes of Adama and Ilori I believe he mentioned knowing about from his days at Spurs youth team. I think it was pretty much how most teams expect to do their business nowadays but Tim wanted to alleviate himself of the blame when the results went tits up, picking his teams without any of the new signings to ram home the point before he got sacked, with more than enough leaks in the press to make him look like the victim.
  6. Perhaps if we'd gone Lambert - Garde we might not be in this mess. Then again, without Sherwood's initial bounce we may have not stayed up, and there's no way of knowing if Garde could have replicated that.
  7. Do you stand up or sit down to wipe your arse? If you sit down then I think it's impossible that its yours.
  8. I like the way he seems to be appealing that someone moved the goal when he wasn't looking.
  9. Anyone care to play devil's advocate and say why a Trump win would be a good thing? I understand he is generally pro universal healthcare, would it ever be likely to happen if he became President? I'm secretly hoping he is a closet Democrat acting as an agent to infiltrate the Republicans to destroy them, it's the only plausible explanation I can think of for his existence.
  10. Nobody else mistakenly eaten their own shit then?
  11. You make some excellent points, I was just thinking if this is the kind of job they wanted the manager to do post-Sherwood, why on earth did they pick Remi? He is obviously a guy for medium to long term improvement, changing the way the players train and the culture of the club, and then they just took away all funding at the first opportunity and utterly condemning us to a quick death. It's just an absolute cluster-**** really.
  12. Dare I say it, but do what Randy did to start with only with a more pragmatic manager. It's the years of clawing back the money that's killed us, so someone who doesn't lose a load of their personal wealth through divorce and recession would be a bonus.
  13. I once found a blob of poo on my sock and put it in my mouth, thinking it was chocolate. Crikey it was rank.
  14. In the words of Dean Learner
  15. Until we have a clear out of the players who don't give a shit and we start playing a lower standard of football next season, things will continue to get messier and messier. Garde will need incredibly thick skin if he is going to last until then. If I were him I'd just jack it in now.
  16. After all the talk on here of the guy who's Dad died on the 29th February, I found out this morning that one of my colleagues passed away yesterday. She'd gone out horse riding and when she hadn't come home, her partner went out to look for her and found her in a field near the stables. Just can't get my head around it, she was here yesterday and now I'll never see her again. It's the first time anything sudden like that has happened to someone I know, touch wood. Just really sad.
  17. Reminds me of a clearing in the woods at work who used the excuse that his Grandma died to get off work, which was fair enough, until he used it for a third time in less than a year. He got sacked in the end.
  18. Definitely, and the match at Leicester this season where Grealish and Gil both scored showed what might have been if they'd been given a run together. But no, he made his subs, and when we lost, rather than admitting it might have been something to do with his substitutions he decided to rip the side apart week after week. I still wonder to this day just how our season would have turned out if he'd brought a midfielder on. Sherwood was probably always an accident waiting to happen though.
  19. It's frightening that Messi keeps finding ways to get better. His free kicks this season have been insane, I think that was his sixth or seventh goal and he has hit the bar a few times as well.
  20. His job at Lyon was working under tough financial circumstances where they sold a lot of their best players and he had to rebuild based on a core of younger players, which in theory is what we were attempting (very badly, mind you). He finished 4th, 3rd and 5th and won a couple of trophies, as well as a Champions League quarter final, so he had made a decent fist of it. Our fault was not getting him in earlier but the damage was done a while ago and they decided they couldn't be arsed to get any of his transfer targets in to help out. Now I'll be surprised if we win another game this season, if the best they can do after all the hard work that went into the run of half-decent form post-New Year is put in a couple of pathetic displays and post pictures of cars on Twitter then there is little any manager can do with such a bunch of gutless bastards IMO.
  21. Exactly, I think Garde is picking the team I would pick almost every week, it's just that they're not good enough. Sherwood was picking random XIs and deliberately excluding some of the newer players and failing utterly to integrate them. Then there's the subs - that moment at Leicester will go down in legend.
  22. To be fair to Zat he is always on the piss-take, I'm not sure about the others though. Anyway, there is no way Sherwood would have been doing a better job.
  23. And that he did worse with the squad. And alienated or completely failed to integrate several members of the squad. And leaked things to the press, by all accounts.
  24. I still can't believe we didn't sign anyone in January Why is he still bothering with us?
  25. Certainly Benteke and Weimann in those days were better than what he have up front at the mo. The rest is probably just as awful. It's a bit of a miracle that it's taken this long to get relegated, looking back on what we've had in the past.
