The keeper could turn out to be one of the best in the league and Long could easily bang in 15-20 goals every season. They are having to pay over the odds for their targets because everybody knows they have got money to spend. But it also shows the club is backing the manager to sign the players he wants. Isa Posted August 14, 2014 Share Posted August 14, 2014 The thing with Long is that he has always showed signs that he is a talented player but for whatever reason he hasn't found the consistancy. It's conceivable that something could suddenly click and he suddenly starts scoring regularly but he is 27 now and hasn't done it yet so it was a crazy fee on the face of it. Problem is better players will go for a lot lot more, as teams know about the pot of gold. And at 27 he's not going to stop scoring goals soon. He's just entering his prime. I reckon double figures this year so that 12 million price tag whilst full, will not be thought excessive.
