We have to agree to disagree on that one. I love Knopfler.

50/50 He CAN be utterly boring. But when he's good, he's very good.

As for Clare Grogan, she's attractive enough, but no more so than hundreds of other singers/actresses.

Does Local Hero have Clare Grogan?

No, it is therefore inferior :D

No, but it has that mermaid, and I like mermaids, even though my sister says they are sexist.

Not even the best Scottish Film

Best Scottish film is Gregory's Girl.again by Bill Forsyth

Gregory's Girl has Clare Grogan, this will trump any other Scottish film

No chance

Sorry Clare Grogan isn't in it

Though I should say, that very pub (on Leith Walk) was the closest pub to the flat I was living in for the month of August when I worked at the Fringe one year in the 80s. Trainspotting is not a work of fiction, it really was like that :D

More shadier characters than I've ever met in a Liverpool boozer and I've drunk in a fair few shady Scouse boozers
