He's **** weird for getting his son to tell him what people are posting about him online and then publicly firing back at them. Who cares if user BeefCurtains84 called you potato face? 99% of other fans are criticizing your poor management. Why don't you address that instead of playing the victim. He's an asshole who can't handle criticism.

I want to hear more from BeefCurtains84.

Never in the history of football has 90 minutes looked so impossible.

He failed. Repeatedly.

He was one of the best backed managers in the league with resources most managers at that level would have given their right arm for.

He had the team languishing in 15th place mid way though the season. His successor got us promoted that same season.

All whilst having an arrogant attitude that we should be grateful for his service, whilst being fawned over by the media for being a nice bloke. He isn't.

Bruce was sacked far to late. The fact that he still gets managerial gigs is utterly astonishing, still dining out on a reputation that is no longer deserved.

I dislike the man and I hate his football. He should have retired years ago. I don't blame him for still being around, I blame the owners who keep employing him.

That Newcastle side is not great, but should have more than enough to stay in the prem, if they do down, it is entirely due to Bruce's "management".

To add to your exceptional post, bruce was hired as a promotion specialist, someone too shithouse the way out of the championship, that would've worked out 10 years ago, football moved on, bruce didnt, buy the best players in the league and hope one of them scores

I know hogan is a joke figure ag aston villa, buy buying what was a prolific striker at the time, who scored by running onto through balls, to then come to villa and spend the game waiting for the ball drop out the sky.

I dont hate bruce as a person, I hate the fact someone, anyone involved at the time thought he was good enough for this football club.

I find it weird that people hate others based on them doing their job. Strange world we live in.

Bruce did alright, it all went wrong, he got sacked and it’s been better since. I don’t harbour any ill wishes with regard to him.

I thought he did ok at Villa. We got to the playoff final even though the football we played wasn't like it is now. Newcastle look really poor though. They got off to a decent start to the season as well, but with key players coming back they should be able to avoid relegation.

was the playoff final with the most expensive squad in the league. A team with Terry, Snodgrass, Grealish among others should be winning the league by 10 points

Yeah I don't like him because he's an asshole and what he represents in English football, not because he failed at Villa. In fact, I'm glad he did.

pretty much the same for me, i didnt like him before he came to Villa and I was vocal about it at the time. Interesting what I wrote on some of the earlier pages was nearly what happened

Yes thats why I wrote he did just ok. Wasn't Grealish out for much of that season as well.

He was back by December. Before that he was very inconsistent and in and out of the team, it was only after he came back from that kidney injury that season that he really became the Jack that we know.

Dredging up an old post, as the above conversation concerns Bruce and dealing with Jack’s absence in the promotion push year.

On 10/04/2019 at 15:37, Mark Albrighton said:

Strangely, Bruce’s record (win percentage) was higher in games without Jack.

I looked that up when the Smith without Grealish stat was first doing the rounds.

I believe Bruce’s win rate with Jack was about 40% (over about 60 league games) without Jack it was over 56% (over league 32 games).

That could mean Bruce’s set up wasn’t really dependent on Jack and as such the team weren’t playing to one of it’s biggest strengths. It could mean Smith’s style is heavily reliant on Jack, maybe too much.

Or it could mean stats while interesting up to a point, don’t always paint the complete picture.

You have to think the grounds being empty has a lot to do why there has only been 1 managerial casualty this season (even that was very harsh). We'd usually have 5 or 6 by this point. Could you imagine SJP with this run that they're currently on? I don't think I've seen a fan base as united as they are in their hatred of him.

He is a terrible manager, and should not be in the business.

Any club pursuing Bruce to be their manager would be like asking Lorena Bobbitt out on a date to the scissor factory.

It will end in tears.

I'm not sure it's correct to say "the most expensive squad in the league"....

... I thought it was "the most expensively assembled squad in the Championship ever". Am I right?

You think he decided to have a dig back at fans who were having a go at him instead of working on trying to improve the team?
You also live in the world where players and managers don’t know how to work the internet and read things for themselves.

I said he shouldn’t have had a go at supporters, it never ends well when managers go down this road.

He doesn't know how to work the internet, that's why he gets his son to tell him. Again, **** weird.

What I meant was he never responds to the constructive criticism. He singles out the abuse and blows it up as if most of the negativity isn't in fact about his management and not his weight or nose or whatever.

All managers get abuse, even Dean Smith bafflingly got some last year. Comes with the job it seems. He's one of the very few that hits back. Done it at a few clubs now.

I’d love to know how you know this is true.

Like last week where he said he made a mistake against Sheffield United picking a defensive team?

From an article a couple of days ago by Simon Bird:

Quote

Bruce doesn't follow social media but his family monitor what's being said for him, and report back
