Chop chop! Lets all gawp at Newcastle (again)

Think Bruce has landed himself in a hopeless / perfect situation at Newcastle.

On the one hand there really is no way he can win. Even if the have an amazing season and finish around 10th the fans still won't be happy or even content because they'd probably rather see Ashley fail and be forced to sell rather than finishing mid table and more of the same.

And if they flop and risk relegation Bruce will be sacked before the season ends, and then he'll rightly be able to claim that the club was shambles and he had an impossible job.

All sides will be able to spin it in their favor, and they will.

And all the while the fans will be the one suffering from it. Glad it's not us for once.

same as there wasn't that much coverage of us in the national press under lerner - no one cares, they are largely irrelevant bar themselves, football forums and rivals

Yep.

Collymore was the only one who used his platform to ask serious questions, but he still got a lot of grief from villa fans.

Collymore was invited to protest and turned it down when it wasn't about him.

Collymore will shout loud till he actually has to do something, then he goes quiet.

He's a bellend

Maybe.

Still had a national media platform and called out Lerner and Fox all the time. Was the only person bringing that level of criticism in the media.

Gets credit from me for that.

There's no maybe. I spent a month contacting him and he wanted nothing to do with it. It was people like @dont_do_it_doug. who made the difference, any fool can about out loud, but Stan wanted NOTHING to do with it when we offered the chance. I even asked him on air and he brushed me off.

Did you see the Arsenal game?

Can't see where the goals are coming from. They are thoughtless in the final third. Might get loads of 0-0 games though.

They had more chances on goal/shots than we did against spurs..😕

So we were more clinical vs a better defence 😉

Heh, hard to really tell anything after one game for any team. We will have far easier games than Spurs & they will have far easier games than Arsenal.

Joelinton, Almiron & Saint-Maximin will get them some goals once they have settled in but they do have a pretty horrible run of games heading their way

And worse, what happens then is they get ignored as being a constant din.  "Oh they're always moaning.  Don't mind them", without ever looking at why.

I swear it was this time 10 years ago Andy Carroll was playing for Newcastle  I wonder if he can rekindle the form that got him a 35million pound transfer.

More chance of this form :D

Quote

England soccer star Andy Carroll was left in agony after a drunken fall from a casino bar stool at 5am, it was claimed yesterday.

Carroll, 22, had just ordered 30 “Jagerbombs” – a potent mix of spirit Jagermeister and Red Bull energy drink – for himself and 15 pals.

Next day the £20million striker’s club, Newcastle United, announced that a thigh injury would rule him out of at least three games.

The Geordie – who picked up an injury in United’s match against Spurs on December 28 – was on a six-hour bender until 6.30am on December 30 at Aspers Casino in Newcastle.

As well as FOUR Jagerbombs, 6ft 4in Carroll downed TWO pints of Fosters and around SIX bottles of Peroni.

Witnesses saw him slump down with his head in his hands after the Jagerbombs and one Peroni. Then all of a sudden he perked up, alert, “like a meerkat”.

It still **** me off that he scored a hat trick against us after Carew put a penalty into orbit

Yeah, we’d just beaten West Ham 3-0 the game before (I think), it was the second game of the season and first away - if I’ve got the timeline right (and yes, I could check but I can’t be arsed) it was about 10 days after O’Neill had walked out and a few days after Milner left and Ireland joined.

So many bad things all in a couple of weeks!

It was Ireland's debut as well 😂
