If they seriously have the money then coutinho is a crazy signing that isn't tgat crazy

Barca have to pay Liverpool the money for him, money they haven't got by the sounds of it so they either cash in on him or another player

Bayern have passed on their option to buy him for €120m (never happening)

After that he's being linked with spurs, utd and Leicester... And that his transfer fee has potentially dropped as low as €70m

No one wants him, none of the CL clubs are paying that for him, maybe another expensive loan deal but not outright buying him so if he's forced out of barcas door him landing at newcastle isn't that daft

Whether or not Newcastle should be buying him is more interesting, even at €70m and £200k a week he's a crown jewell player but with FFP doesn't leave them with the scope to give that team an instant 7 or 8 place shoot up the league

Thue are heavily linked with Coutinho...

So many reason why this isn't going to be accurate, to name a few off the top of my head...

  • Nobody is doing transfer business at the moment
  • Newcastle haven't been sold to rich people
  • £70m will give them a major FFP headache when/if they are bought
  • Newcastle are shit
  • Coutinho will have better options than Newcastle, especially at ~£70m.

WTO rule in favor of Bein sports. Calling Mr. Ashley?!?

"But in its judgement, issued on Tuesday, the WTO found that Saudi Arabia had facilitated the beoutQ operation and had "acted in a manner inconsistent" with international law protecting intellectual property rights.

The WTO also called for the country to "bring its measures into conformity with its obligations" under international law."

If the PL now allow this move to happen after this they have proven how corrupt they are

It certainly feels like the PL don’t want to approve it, but they have to be clear there is a written down breach of the standard they can reject it against (otherwise there will be an expensive legal challenge).

There were some reports over the weekend that the PL were trying to spin in in to a way that they get a chunk of money out of it, not sure of the details seeing as Bein have a £400m contract but there was an option being floated that sounded like their owners would pay the PL compensation and it could be swept under the carpet

I guess they’d be asked to buy the PL TV rights which brings money in for the league.

Theres no way “compensation” is going to be accepted, would absolutely stink of bribe.

And surely Qatar who owns BeIN sport would not be OK with just a bit of money even if the Saudi's agreed to pay.

It's about more than money for Qatar vs Saudi.

One of the yanks waiting in the wings has made a bid, Henry mauriss, owns clear TV

Apparently it's £50m higher too. If Ashley has any mechanism to stop the deal going forwards and has a chance to make more money he will take it.

But that makes no sense, if the sale price is 300million why offer 350?

The guy doesn't seem to be hugely wealthy by PL owner standards, so 2 options I guess:

  1. He's desperate to secure the asset ASAP as he knows there will be much stringer bidders.
  2. It's all bollocks leaked to drum up more interest in case the Saudi bid fails.

Probably to persuade Ashley to pull the plug on the current deal and go with them instead.

If your house was on the market for 300k and someone was buying it at that price  but there were a few hiccups, you might be tempted to pull out and go with a new buyer if they were offering 350k despite being a long way through the process with the original buyer.

I really hope this new deal goes through. The number of Newcastle fans with Saudi Arabia flags etc on their twitter profiles is pretty ridiculous  and the backtracking would be fun to watch.

Newcastle fans no morals.
