Milfner
So leaders Lyon, who have spent €19.8m on new players in last four years, go seven points clear of PSG, who've spent... €453m
The_Rev
How good was the squad Lyon had though? Didn't they win the league 7 years in a row in the 00's?
Milfner
They've been pretty average (for their standards) over the last few seasons. 5th - 13/14 3rd - 12/13 4th - 11/12 Not won the league since 07/08. Lacazette is the main reason for their form, got 20 in 21 this season. Before this season he had in 24 in 106 league appearances.
Popular Post The_Rev
If you bet a pound on Arsenal finishing above Spurs the year Wenger took over and had double or quits every season since then your pound would now be worth £262,144,

The_Rev
Paul Lambert's sacking means that for the first time in the Premier League era no club has a Scottish manager.
NurembergVillan Posted February 12, 2015 Moderator Share Posted February 12, 2015 Of Premier League managers to have been in charge of one club for at least 100 games, only Mick McCarthy (Wolves) has a worse record than Paul Lambert. They were both sacked after game 101.
lapal_fan
Paul Lambert's sacking means that for the first time in the Premier League era no club has a Scottish manager. Coincidence that it coincides with there being a lack of quality scottish players since 2000? If you think about it, the Scottish guys playing in the early 2000's would be managers by now, and the quality of Scottish football has been in sharp decline since 98 probably. BOF Posted February 12, 2015 Moderator Share Posted February 12, 2015 Ronald Koeman scored 239 goals in a 685 game career. He was a centreback (mostly)That is almost unbelievable.
Stevo985 Posted February 12, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted February 12, 2015 (edited) I know. There are strikers who would be over the moon with a record like that. granted set pieces skew those figures a fair bit, but it's still a phenomenal record. ml1dch
So have Joe Kinnear and Gordon Strachan. Mourinho has won the award as many times as Stuart Pearce has.
HanoiVillan
Playing devil's advocate, why should Mourinho have far more awards? We get it, he's an excellent manager who also manages one of the richest clubs in the world. He's brilliant. But it would be a bit tedious simply handing him awards every 30 days telling him how magnificent he is. Part of the reason is that a club like Chelsea rarely exceed expectations - everyone expects them to win everything anyway, so nothing is that surprising. When Swansea win four matches in a row, people are impressed.
The_Rev
Bayern Munich have had at least one player in every World Cup Final since 1982. (Germany have been in five of the nine finals since 1982)
