Popular Post KSV
"Despite where we are in the league, the club is in abetter place than before he arrived."Just a technicality , I know, but we appear to be pretty much in the same place as we were at the end of the 2005-6 season. (Then:16th in the league, 1.11 points per game, weak squad; Now: 15th in the league, 1.03 points per game, weak squad).Overall.. yeah we haven't really moved. But hey.. we did have a few good years in between. I remember leading Arsenal by 6-7 points in 4th spot. We almost qualified. Things could have been so different. MON decided to buy Heskey and ruined our momentum.
lp_villa830
I think he's right personally. Spending 1/4th of his wealth is pretty decent of him. NET spend? In terms of his complete outlay before he eventually sells up? Yes.
Mendi
so he was here on Tuesday, why was he over here?
Mic09
maybe to do some business at the ground with the new owner? But then again, Im sure Randy has people to show the potential buyers round our facilities. Unless of course, they are not american, and come from the east. Could birmingham be the halfway meeting point? Or maybe he just fancied a pit stop on broad street?

Cliffy Biro
Probably just to show his face and have a word with 1 or 2 people after the week or two we've had i would've thought.

AVTuco Posted April 25, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted April 25, 2014 What Brad fails to mention is that most of that 250 million was spent some time ago, and that Randy is showing no interest to spend any more. And hasn't shown in many years.

The_Lions_Roar
m.skysports.com/article/football//9280610 Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan has jumped to the defence of the club's owner, Randy Lerner. It has been a frustrating season for Villa and Lerner, valued at over £1billion, recently hinted he may sell the club after eight years at the helm. However, Guzan has insisted that Lerner, who also owned the Cleveland Browns in the NFL for ten years, does not deserve criticism and has moved the club in the right direction. "Randy has been a really good owner," the 29-year-old said in The Sun. "Despite where we are in the league, the club is in a better place than before he arrived. "He understands the history and the passion of Aston Villa. "You don't always see that, with Americans especially. "He's built a beautiful training ground, improved the stadium and cleared the club's debts. "To criticise him after spending upwards of £250million of his own money - that is extremely harsh." Whoa whoa whoa brad, don't go listing positive things he's done for the club, don't you know he's the devil?
Big_John_10
Let's not forget January and how another January window with no backing has left us.
suttonpaul
Lets also not forget remit has been met by the manager and budgets should be set per season not per window.
Big_John_10
Lets also not forget remit has been met by the manager and budgets should be set per season not per window. The remit hasn't been met yet and you don't gamble with premiership status to cheap out.
NurembergVillan Posted April 26, 2014 Moderator Share Posted April 26, 2014 You've absolutely ruined our club Lerner, you bell end. Get lost. You can have your **** tiles back as well if you want.
Swerbs
The club needs a complete overhaul from top to bottom.
Condimentalist
For all the anger that will (fairly) come Lambert's way after today, let's not forget who the real culprit is. With this squad we'd already be down under most managers, and that ain't Lambert's fault for the most part.
Mendi
If he not sacked Lambert it says he not willing to pay out to him. please sell up
Big_John_10
In January he provided funds to sign Bertrand and Holt on loan. Lambert deserves all the stick he'll get but Lerner has played his part.
PieFacE Posted April 26, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted April 26, 2014 The club is an absolute shambles from top to bottom. Lerner has really **** this up. He needs to go.
