General, any chance that for next season we could have some claret and blue goalnets at Villa Park? No other club in the league has nets in their colours and it'd be a little cosmetic addition that could make us stand out.

Probably a Premier League law to stop this.

General, I bet you are gutted that the Porno Dwarf David Sullivan said that he didn't enjoy his latest trip to Villa Park. Can we please ensure that the next time that Birmingham play us, no doubt in the cup in about 15 years, that he receives a much warmer reception before we send him home with his tail between his legs.

I personally feel that Birmingham will be a sad loss to the league, what more can their fans want? That came to their rivals and took part in a 6 goal thriller!

can I just say thank you for speaking to Nicky Keye at the ticketing department on my behalf, she has been superbly helpful.

General, would you pass on my thanks to MON for the way he has handled the despicable behaviour by Liverpool and Rafa Benitez. twice now before massive games they have delberatly unsettled us and MON's comments were surperb.

I think I speak on behalf of the vast majority of Villa fans when I say we are proud of a manager who stands up for us in this way and takes no BS.

General,

Is there any chance we could get the Premier League to take action against Liverpool for tapping up our captain following Rafa Benitez's 'Barry can play in 3 positions so we do not need to worry about this' comment.

I think the way Liverpool have acted throughout this situation is clasless and very unprofessional, and certainly not the 'Liverpool way' of old.

They are deliberately using underhand tactics to unsettle our skipper, and they shouldn't be allowed to get away with it.

Cheers.

General, surely this saga with Redscouse over Barry highlights the club to have someone in the public 'Chief Executive' role to take the heat off the manager (edit.. who should be preparing the team etc not being involved in slanging matches distracting him from this).

Randy does not want the attention, you are busy in all your secret missions, Michael Cunnah is basically responsible for the stadium so there seems to be avoid in the management structure now of having a recognised 'public face' of AVFC

I agree with this General. A couple of years before you arrived David O'Leary made a comment about James Beattie wanting to join us, this is a quote from the Times

Last week the FA charged Aston Villa manager David O’Leary with “tapping up” Southampton’s James Beattie. This relates to a press conference at which O’Leary said: “There is a player there who wants to join us” soon after Saints had rejected Villa’s £6m bid.

This went to the FA and we got reprimanded, surely what Benitez has said counts as 'tapping up' too and I think a little word with the FA may well be in order.

General Krulak here:

1. rjw63: I am glad things got sorted...and glad to be of some help. Nicky and her team are great.

2. Liverpool and "tapping": I am sure that the RA has watched what has transpired and do not need us to sort thru what has occured. None of us are really privy to communications (offical or not) so I would hesitate to comment other than what I just said.

3. Denis_B: I am not sure I agree with you...and I can assure you that Randy would not agree. Simply put, Randy runs Villa and the Browns in basically the same way. He is VERY hands on and has many people assisting him on a day-to-day basis. The title of CEO just isn't one that we feel is necessary at this time. Randy is too involved to give that "handle" to someone at this moment. As an example, one of the Directors is at Villa right now...and I will be over there for about 10 days starting week after next. The Club is in good hands.

4. Gabby15: My family and I are fine...thank you for asking. My son was with me for the Wigan game (burp) and as I indicated above, I will be over at Villa a week from now. My wife is a real trooper...putting up with all my travel. I am gone on business trips about 2 weeks out of the month (will be in Minnesota next week) and she puts up with it. Of course I get major heat for all the time on the computer!!!

I would just like to say how great it is to have someone on our boards who actually cares about us and answers our questions. I know you have to deal with tricky questions and you do your best to answer them. I have three simple questions for you

1) We all have heard about the five year plan but do you personally think we are where we want to be?

2) Mods I know this might be deleted but how did you feel after the Blouse game and the whole atmosphere

3) Above may have been answered before but I am new here (sorry mods). My question is - Our support has been incredible this season home and away, what has been the best game for atmosphere for your good self.

I think this saves the General some typing :winkold:

General Krulak here:

1. I just got back to the US and I want to give you my view of the weekend. First and foremost, I could hardly sleep Saturday night...I haven't felt that fired up since Desert Storm. Randy and I decided not to sit in the Director's Box...not because of the Gold situation but because we honestly wanted to be with the Fans and see the game from their perspective. Randy spent a good deal of time standing in the Trinity. I spent 20 minutes each in 4 sections of the Holte. SIMPLY PUT, THE DAY WAS AWESOME!!!!! First, the game. I thought the lads never looked better. The pace was dramatic, the play in the center of the field was brilliant...Petrov looks like the man MON signed...NRC has an engine that will NOT stop...and our Captain, well, he was superb. His passes were spot on...all the time. The back line was tight and strong...defending well and pushing forward when needed. The picture of Mellberg coming off the Pitch and pumping his fists will last with me for years. John Carew was unstoppable. They mugged him and still couldn't stop him. Young and Gabby were absolutely too much for anyone to handle. EVERY player was magnificent...and perhaps the best stop of the day was MON's "handball" on the line!! The group I have not mentioned is obvious....YOU, THE FAN!!! Oh my goodness!!! The fans were unbelievable!!! I confess I have not heard such language since the Forces but I loved it. The folks in the Holte End were great...friendly and put up with me in a very kind manner. I had a great view of all the stands and the noise was overpowering. It was great!!! About 2 hours after the game, Randy and I slipped off by ourselves and sat in the Director's Box....the stadium was totally empty....and we just savored the moment. It was the best 15 minutes I have spent at Villa Park. We just sat there and relived the game and, more importantly, the last two years. So much came back to you all...the fans. We are blessed to have people like yourselves...we couldn't be more blessed. Yes, we know things won't always be perfect...and we know we will not always get it right. BUT, please believe me when I say that Randy does want to do the right thing for your Club. :notworthy:

2. After the game and after Randy had gone back to London, I visited 4 Pubs to thank the Fans for their support. First stop was the Barton Arms where I ran into about 15 fans from H&V (I know, a rival site but...they are fans) and had a great time reliving the game. Again, my point in going to the Pubs was not to drink but to send a message of thanks from Randy!!! :D:D

General,

Minnesota is one of my favorite places to visit, i have family in St Paul and had many a holiday up on the Gunflint trail. I have to say that the Fall (Autumn) there is better than anywhere. Hope your visit is for pleasure.

Hi General, I am wondering if you can help or advise with a season ticket stuation. I am a ST holder in the upper Holte this season, the seat next to me is not held by a ST holder as somebody different has sat next to me every game.

Next season I have a friend who wants to buy a ST as well and we want to be seated next to each other. I have rang the ticket office to see how we can work this out, to be advised that for now my friend can only go on a waiting list, and the waiting list is for a specific stand not an individual seat. This is fair enough as renewals are being dealt with right now not new applications.

So I asked if my friends is succesful and gets a ST next season can any priority be put for him to have the seat next to mine, the answer to this is no. So I asked should he be successful in his application can we both then apply to move our seats to another area/stand so the seats are together, to be informed that by the time he finds out if his application is successful I will be past the relocation date for existing ST holders and will not be able to move my seat.

Basically the message I am getting is that as an existing ST holder, there is no mechanism to encourage another fan to become a ST holder and then sit next to each other. this will be compounded next season for example whereby my Daughter will be old enough to start coming, and would the same situation apply that I can't request a seat next to me in any way pending a successful application from the waiting list?

Any help or advise on this would be much appreciated.

By the way I don't post too often so will take the opportunity to thank Randy, yourself, MON and everybody else involved on the way you are transforming our club, it has been a pleasure to behold on and off the pitch this season.

General,

thing is, he wasnt "tapped up" , as liverpool sent a transfer offer to the club. Tapping up is when the club consult the player before they consult the club.

I have to ask the same question. My friend who like myself is a ST holder wants to sit by me next season *(poor lad haha) and his friend who is not wants to get a ST and sit with us. So what is the procedure. Do I and my fellow ST holder chum wait then get all 3 tickets together or is there a backup plan for such circumstances?

Re season ticket holders and "new" ST holders next to them - without answering for the club, where you don't manage to get hold of an empty seat(s) next to you, for your friend(s) then the club usually asks people to go along to the relocation day for the stand you want seats in and get the number together you want. The relocation dates are with the season ticket renewal info.

That works because some people may actually want to move away and create spaces...etc. If you can't get to the relocation day, then I guess you should contact the ticket office, explain you want 2/3 together, give them your renewal details and hope they can find you somewhere.

They try really hard to help people.

I'm pretty confident that the General will advise something similar - it's the way they have always done it in the past.
