CarewsEyebrowDesigner
Young is not the player that we want him to be to be perfectly honest. Get Downing off, put Young on the wing and put Bannan on.
Laivasse
Rooney hasn't found his form, we're just making it easy for him. Honestly I think those saying we're playing decently should look a bit closer. Stringing a few passes together means nothing when we have no final product and they're so content to catch us on the break. It's not a fluke that they've had 4 or 5 solid chances. Get Downing on the left and Alby on the right, or take Alby off since Young needs to get out of that useless central position and back on the wing. Dunne off for Cuellar, then smack them all around in the dressing room a bit more to make them show for the ball more when we have possession. leevilla
typicaL,that fat clearing in the woods hardly score all season then gets 2 in 1st half against us!
hopeful.villan
two sucker punches. They've had chances but you'd expect that. We've been to easy to defend against but that was always goin to be the case after that start. Go out and have a go at them in the second half at least. Lets get some positives from this
bose
It's just bizarre that Cuellar isn't favoured instead of either Dunne or Collins. I just can't understand the logic behind it.
West
Heskey on for Downing, Bent hasn't looked like winning any of the knock downs where as Heskey will win them. Makoun has been very impressive, knocking it around with ease. Plays with a touch of class, hopefully he can keep going for another 15-20 mins and then look to bring on NRC. paulanddonya
Carlo Ancelotti 31.1.11 Forwards are there to score, defenders to defend, and goalkeepers to save. So why the hell are we intent on playing Young up front !. 3 yrs - 1 goal from open play - its disgusting !. One of two things - either drop him, or, drop Downing / Albrighton and put him on the wing and get Gabby or Fonz up there. Other things Why Petrov ? - what the hell has NRC got to do to get a run of games. Bit of a coincidence our upturn has come when NRC has played. N ot going to really have a go at defence, sometimes you are just up against better players. Always knew we;d lose this, worry is the other scores ! maqroll
Total sh*t. Gabby on for Albrighton to start the 2nd half, please. NRC on for Petrov, who looks stuck in molasses.

chelmsley_villan
Typical eh, rooney cant score to save his life and he now has a high chance of a hat-trick Makoun has been the best for us by far, petrov needs to come off, hardly touched the ball Just hope it doesnt become a 4/5-0 now and then it knocks the confidence of the players which recently finally looked on the up
R.I.C.O.
As long as we can keep the scoreline down, no bother. We were never going to get anything from this lot, it was just important to get this game over with and move on to the 11 winnable games after it. If we can salvage some pride in the 2nd half then fair play, concede another and we'll be heading for a rough night and another Houllier spanking special. regular_john
Blegh, poor half, too much tippy tappy shit, doing well at keeping possession but have no penetrance or oomph when we're near their box. Game over now I think.
Stoneyroo
We haven't looked too bad this half, and the scoreline is a little harsh. Makoun has looked quality, and has been all over the park, always looking for the forward pass as well.

VillaAlex
Our overall play has been good, but too many mistakes and it's the last team you want to do them against... This was expected though, their home form is exceptional and a draw would have been an excellent result. If we keep our heads up and keep the score down no problem, I just worry a few more goals and confidence goes...
smetrov
Plenty of possession - but no end product. we need to build up quicker and use the pace of bent
spacemanscott
I'll tell you what lads, Makoun looks world class to me. Never looks like giving the ball away, always able to twist and turn away from the opposition under pressure to pick out a positive, incisive pass. All the defence look poor but young Walker is sadly not yet good enough at this level. Petrov offers nothing. Young can't control and is too weak. Get Walker, Petrov and Young off for Cueller, NRC and Heskey.
