It looks like it will be one out 5

Bob Bradley

Sven Goran Eriksson

Jurgen Klinsmann

Alan Curbishley

Martin Jol

And in all honesty I do not have any major problem with any of them and if anyone of them becomes manager they will get my full support.

If a manger is named before September 1st they will have money to spend as why do it when you can wait till September.

Know nothing about this german chap. Yes, back to back promotions into the Bundesliga is impressive, but that was down to Hoffenheim hugely outspending the rest of the league and buying Bundesliga quality players (on Bundesliga wagers) whilst they were in the third tier.

Imagine if the Man City arabs had bought Swindon Town instead of Man City, and still signed Santa Cruz, Robinho, Given, Lescott, Toure, De Jong..

It doesn't take a fantastic manager to do what he did at Hoffenheim. Had he continued to go on to win that league (which looked a possiblity at one point) then I would be more full of praise for him - but then fell away quite dramatically and finished about 6th I think.

Just for fun, will order this 'shortlist' to my preference:

Jol

Curbishley

Klinsmann

Bradley

Eriksson.

My order would be:

Jol

Klinsmann

Sven

Curbishley

Bradley

I can't see it happening, but I would love to get one of these:

Rijkaard

Hiddink

Bilic

How about an outside shout?

:thumb: This.

Note: Doesn't mean they are my preferred candidates, but from that shortlist I agree with briggaman's ranking.

As a number 2 maybe. Laursen could also be awesome in that role.

But we need an experienced manager here. It will not be an easy situation he's taking over. Needs to be someone who will immediately command the respect of the players, which is why Jol is my number 1 choice. But I think he's just agreed to stay at Ajax.
