Young - can you blame the board. Anyone want to get perspective as to where villa are as a club, last time I checked we were winning **** all. Better players always move to bigger clubs. He submitted a transfer request so no loyalty bonus to be paid. I think Villa were fed up of all the speculation. It's a sickener to lose both Young and Downing but what's the point of having someone who doesn't want to play for you? Hope we get N'Zogbia and a replacement for Downing quickly. Good player but shows lack of loyalty in football when we signed him when injured and had faith in him. We all know there is no player loyalty these days, but to take the piss out of the club publicly, the way Downing has, is disgraceful. The trouble is Young and Downing will be very difficult to replace for the same money, let alone half! To put things into prospective Liverpool purchased Henderson for 20m, a player not known and not of particular quality. They have got a England international winger for the same money who has improved year on year! Wigan will want 20m now for Nzogbia we will say no and end up with some cast off from a scottish team. I am not going over the top, the fact of the matter is if we don't get two decent wingers Bent will hand in a transfer request in mid August or January.
