Or just bringing him on to change our shape later in the game. What I'm trying to say is, if Lambert wants him to push for a 1st team spot but his strongest option formation wise involves wing-backs, would he be willing to change the team to fit Grealish in? Does he rate him that highly?

8pints
Out of interest what formation would people play with Grealish in the team? And everyone fully fit? Guzan Bacuna Okore Vlaar Richardson Delph Westwood N'Zogbia Cole Grealish Benteke That's with everyone fully fit like you say but I actually wouldn't mind seeing that team start the season with Weimann in the place of Benteke. I still would like to see a bit more of Weimann up front rather than being played out wide and it could be interesting in this set up. I still haven't lost faith in Weimann when he plays up front although I can understand anyone who has. I'd hope N'Zogbia, Cole and Grealish would create a lot of chances, so maybe an on form Bent in that position, getting on the end of things and finishing the chances that'd come his way, wouldn't be too bad either. DCJonah
I'd be happy to see him and nzogbia either side of bent as a front 3 or on the left hand side of a midfield 4. Lambert, for some strange reason, doesn't like to play with proper wide players so it will be interesting to see how he utilises jack.
KitKat
Realistically, if we avoid getting too carried away, we're going to see him come on to roll a different kind of dice in the times where we would have previously seen Tonev etc. Probably most often for Weimann or Gabby after they've tuckered themselves out. Same with Cole, I imagine. No Benteke/Kozak for the opening part of the season might see him higher up the pecking order though.
Phumfeinz
Is Grealish better on the left then? I always thought he was a central kinda guy.
VillaChris
Is Grealish better on the left then? I always thought he was a central kinda guy. He can play centrally but drifts out wide, the sort of thing David Silva, Nasri do.

DCJonah
I think nzogbia can play left, right or central really. I hope grealish is given a chance early on. I think he could be a spark we need to get off to a positive start.

Thank God you don't pick the team then I was making a point that playing Grealish effectively would be playing him out wide, which would probably mean a 4-4-2 formation. I did then explain that I think we would be stronger playing a 5-2-1-2 formation with the squad we currently have, or slightly more defensive 5-3-1-1 Guzan Bacuna Okore Vlaar Baker Richardson Westwood Delph N'Zogbia Benteke Bent Or take Bent out and put El Ahmadi between Delph and Westwood
Jay.P.A
N'Zogbia should play upfront with Benteke. I think they could form a very good partnership if I'm honest. Give N'Zogbia the free role so he can switch wings and roam around in the middle if need be. Grealish could fit in wide on the left or the right. kasabian21
The only way we can play two up front is in a 4-4-2 or 5-3-2/3-5-2. It wouldn't surprise me if Lambert played a 4-4-1-1 at the start of the season. I'd feel 'safe' playing: Guzan Hutton Okore Vlaar Stevens Bacuna Westwood Delph Richardson Cole/Nzog/Grealish Bent As Bacuna and Richardson can both play as RB/LB respectively, we'd have much more cover for Stevens and Hutton and we'd be a lot better defensively. The huge gap we usually have between Midfield and Attack can be bridged by Delph and the Attacking Mid, whoever that may be. Westwood can sit deep and do his usual thing. If attacking it could turn into a 4-2-3-1.
Danny_Villaman84
My Line up for start of season untill Benteke return. --------------------Guzan-------------------- Lowton---Vlaar------Okore-----Richardson ------------Westwood--Delph--------------- ---N'zogbia-----Coles--------Grealish -------------------Bent--------------------- when Benteke Return swap Bent.. Lowton is must stay in Right Back i like him, cos he is good crosser and good tackle, good marking but pace and position his weakest.. ALSO He is alway keys for Benteke to goal by his crossing.. that why his first good form season.. and benteke score alots..Baunca cant cross but better pace to defensive .. If Lowton left that Baunca take over so N'Zogbia and Baunca to Free kick Specialist and Corner ;-) N'zogbia and Grealish love to dribble and both will idea to pass players or close control to get foul in box or go to byline and pass to Bent - his specialist tap in. (benteke) or Coles Or else ie delph or westwood whose go pop in box. ALSO Grealish and N'zogbia, Cole all 3 is can creative pass (killer pass) prefect for Benteke and Bent to find space.. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- so back to topic - JACK GREALISH. I love his dribbling and feet control to kept ball on feet.. most match i am notice he lost to big defender only soft or tiny Jockey on him to take down easy .. it is foul easy but look like dive when he is not try to do.. it can rack up win for penalty..it is make ref hard decision ,.. these ability which cant teach him, it is come natural to him.. I would kept him play to learn by regular start line up in premiership might sent championship for 3 months until dec - feb busy months .. and get use to facing defender. Ideal that he drag 3 defender to him and give space and he do killer pass easy to make space or once past all it and plenty space for he place shot or pass to striker to finish off! I can see him become very good players or talent to do it .. just need time and experience to do it .. we need get him contract, if Lambert or Lerner don't do it .. we will serious lost potential world class or good players to be.. 5 years with each years pay rise is best option .. to stop he left us even his support club - Aston Villa (our club).
