lapal_fan
I loved watching him last season (missed his 159n.o though), but he wasn't incredible for bears. Still would have preferred him here though!
Rugeley Villa
i used to bloody love cricket but like many things it faded away. but im going to try and get into it again, so im getting up early boxing day to watch the first test. also been trying to get back into the darts again recently because im just fed up of only being into football. blandy Posted December 26, 2015 Moderator Share Posted December 26, 2015 Put in to bat on a green tinged seamer after rain. Not really a surprise. Compton and Taylor doing OK.
dAVe80
Taylor loses his wicket, and Villa go one down. Merry Christmas.

Rodders
it's supposed to be a good pitch to bat on anyway, merely the conditions led SA to putting us in, so only being 4 down gives us a decent chance to now get a good score today. ( Sorry for the inevitable jinx ) . Still about 50/50 at the moment, we could do our occasional collapse to 260 or put ourselves in with a shout of 350-400. Rodders
The Midlands contribution - 0 and 0 for Moeen and Woakes, thanks lads What a sporting black hole our region seems to be this christmas. To not even get 300 would be a bit of a disaster given it's supposed to be great for batting today and tomorrow. Bairstow gone now. Come on bowlers. OutByEaster? Posted December 27, 2015 Moderator Share Posted December 27, 2015 Good test match this - we're putting a fair bit of pressure on them. Broad has been excellent.

Rodders
oh yes, woakes was bowling beautifully. Unlucky there. 2nd wicket for Moeen this morning so we're in a strong position now I think! and a third - our test to lose this definitely now. PaulC
Yes although I don't get carried away because I know Moeen will be expected to bowl South Africa out 2nd innings and thats a lot of weight on his shoulders. AB doesn't fail too often either.
blandy Posted December 28, 2015 Moderator Share Posted December 28, 2015 There's a TMS ashes video thing on the iPlayer with Root and Broad. It's excellent. Quote England cricketers Stuart Broad and Joe Root re-live their thrilling 2015 Ashes series victory over Australia, with the help of Test Match Special’s Pint-Sized Ashes.

Mind you no Phillander and Steyn injured they are left with two seamers plus a new spinner. The only question is whether England can bowl South Africa out second time around.
