I seem to remember that when Real Madrid played Olympique Lyonnais Cannavaro was absolutely awesome and had Carew in his pocket from start to finish. Carew will be shitting blue bricks at this moment.

No, wait a minute...

Herd has played at right back a fair bit but is more of a centre midfielder.

If there is any chance that Curtis will make his injury worse he shouldn't play. In fact, if it's a recurring shoulder problem he should be getting surgery.

he should have had surgery at the start of the summer...

he will be crap again at the start of the season... get slated, lose confidence, and do a jlloyd...

i thought the days of holding off much needed medical treatment were over when ellis left the club...

We are basically meeting Juventus in a final with our youth side :bang:

This would seem to be one of the major points of this tournament, seeing which of the youngsters can make the leap.

Better to blood them here in a friendly (albeit still competitive) European tournament rather than when it really matters.

---------------Guzan--------------

NRC----Cuellar--Clark----Shorey

Albrighton-Ozzy--Sidwell--Young

---------Carew--Weimann--------

I reckon this is what he'll go with, he has played NRC at RB many times.

I thinkwe have peaked in this tournament and Juve will be too good for us, a good work-out for the kids and good experience, but Juve will be too strong for us. Still I am immensely proud that we've made the final, a great effort! Look forward to watching us play against quality opposition from abroad in a semi-competitve match.

i agree he should have had it done while we had nothing to play for after we missed out on 4th then he would ahve been out 3-4 months and missed maybe 1-2 games start of season then be back but mon instead chose to do it this way and if he gets injured we have ONE cb!

Forgot about NRC at right back. Good call, I'd say this is quite likely. That or instead of Ozzy...

SALI! SALIFOOOOUUU!

Or not.

We would easily get relegated with that team and its currently our first choice team

You mean that team that just beat Porto? Granted it was a friendly, but they were hardly playing friendly.

What an overstatement.

We are definitely without Diego for the match, which is a bit of a pain as he's only played one game this summer. :?

The lineup is almost certain to be the team that started against 'getReal' Madrid.

Not overly confident about the match though

And also our first choice team minus our 3 England U21 internationals.

Abandon ship anyway though

no its not our current first choice team

Missing players from that team (granted not all of these would start)

Heskey, petrov, Luke Young, Bouma, Downing, C Gardner, Milner, Agbonlahor, Friedel

So its our first choice team with nine players missing. yes, that team would get relegated, which is why we need some players in

I thought we'd get beaten by Porto, so dont know what to think of this one. Juventus didnt look much good in the Champions League last season, none of the Italians did. Might be interesting, even with so many players out

Either way, I'm looking forward to it

I would hope it'll be:

------------------Guzan------------------

Lichaj-----Cuellar-----Clark------Shorey

Albrighton--Reo Coker--Sidwell--Bannan

------------Carew-----Young--------------

It'll be interesting to see who gets the nod up front with Carew though.

Maybe we could play five in midfield with Osbourne joining Sidwell and Reo Coker?

I'd be disappointed to see Davies risked.
