Wedding Crashers. - just fancied something easy to watch. Seen it before but always makes me smile. Vaughan and Wilson compliment each other fantastically well,

Crazy how many "my type of film" boxes the drop ticks, I probably said the same thing about killing them softly though...

Tom hardy has the world at his feet, can't wait to see him in peaky blinders, Locke in about 2 weeks I think too

Eyes Wide Shut - 8 out of 10. Fitting end to Kubrick's great career. Surprised it flopped so badly but agree with the critics who praised it so highly. Tom Cruise and Kidman were both tremendous. Hard to describe the film other then gothic porn. So atmospheric.Loved it.

12 Angry Men - 10 out of 10. Second time ive seen it and even better on second viewing. Masterpiece.

Akira - 8.5 out of 10. I prefer spirited away and grave of the fireflies but this was still excellent. I read that Leonardo di caprio has brought the rights to turn this anime brilliance into a hollywood mess.

Cinema Paradiso - 9 out of 10 - saw the original 3 hour plus masterpiece not the cut down rubbish. Beautiful film.

Trance - 3 out of 10. Big danny boyle fan but this was a turd. Confusing mess.

Chronicle (2012) - 8 out of 10. Didnt expect to like this but I loved it. Best 'superhero' film ive ever seen...other then the dark knight of course. 3 teenagers unexpectedly gain super powers that leads to a dark and unexpected ending.

I still hold hope for a proper Akira anime, or heck, yeah, a live action version. There's so much more story than what the film animated, it basic stops halfway and tacks on an ending. Still a classic though.

It's one of those that is rumoured every now and then, bit like Evangelion live action.

Just watched This is the End and thought it was very funny. I always enjoy celebs parodying themselves and it really worked in this film. A good one to just sit back and switch off to. I'm not always the biggest Seth Rogen fan but this is definitely one of his better offerings. I suppose I was always going to love this as an Eastbound & Down fan though.

Yes well, colour me surprised.

Not every film has to have a serious message or a quality story behind it. Sometimes it's nice just to switch off and enjoy some silliness.
