So we've gone from getting £15M for Keinan to £1M in 12 months. Bloody Watford! 😅

Another reason why we will be seeing more academy players sold, rather than holding onto them too long and their value plummeting after a bad loan.

If it really is 6m for both, it would appear that Monchi may not be the great wheeler dealer we had hoped for.

£7m for JPB, or £6m for JPB and Davis!

AMIRITE?

7 goals in 34 games for Watford did him not favours. Stats show a lot of dry spells without goals too

He's a very creative player basically, he carries ball a lot and has quality passing. So he's a work horse for the team.

Even when he wasn't doing as much scoring for Watford (who were terrible last season) he still racks impressive progression stats.

A Heskey type then?

Good luck to him wherever he goes, but he has never been and will never be good enough for Villa.

Well he does exactly what he does basically. If you need a CF to lead the line like Antonio does for West Ham 5 goals 3 assists in games but does the job you need him to do.

Are we raising funds to make a statement signing to elevate the team… before the window closes?

Certainly feels like it…

I expect several additions but just feel like a real “big signing” is on the way…

to take us to that next level…

i expect just bhope we dont get dissapointed with players going we need to replace

6m for JPB is shite money. Better off keeping him.

This has to be player led if we are selling him for 5 million. Monchi can't be that bad!

Can only sell him for more if teams offer more.

Supposedly the transfer is player led, he wants first team football.

He could easily 10 plus games before Jan if he stays. If he impresses in those he could get more. League Cup and ECL starts shouldn't be hard to come by. Not happy with this sale.

The fees are v small particularly for JPB which suggests to me that the board are rushing a sale so that we can do some more business this transfer window with the FFP increased capacity.

Even if JPB wants leave/have first team football ordinarily you’d surely loan him so that he can be in the shop window and fetch a higher fee next year. The only reason to sell now is if we want to buy now as well

Philogene is insisting he wants to go and play, so the choice is to either loan him or sell him, loan would be risky as all it would take is a season plagued by injury which for him wouldn't be uncommon, meaning he wouldn't be able to get game time, and would therefore lose value, or selling him for six million with buy-back so we will get a decent chunk of money for him however well he does at Hull, and also still have the possibility of bringing him back.

Not really sure why people think £6m is such a low fee, it isn't, he did very well second half of last season, but also he's been plagued by injuries and doesn't have much time left on his Villa deal, if you asked me at the start of the summer how much we could get for him with buy-back I would have guessed around two or three million, and would be doing well to get more than five million without buy-back.
