Its what I’d expect someone who was a top level player turned manager with his qualities (and what they compensated for) to think.

He’s never played for a team that wasn’t expected to win almost every game.

Terrifying

Ah yes that old chestnut that everyone was “terrified” about in the summer. Didn’t happen then either.

He got injured (again) in the summer so wasn't really gonna happen after that.

When did he say the wiping the floor line? Press conference ?

At the beginning but listen to it in context.

Not great words to use really but I wouldn’t take what managers have to say too seriously anyway. It’s what happens on the pitch that matters and I can’t see him changing much based on the last 12 months.

The  context is Jim that we’re 16th in the league and playing terrible uninspiring football. The unfortunate irony is that they probably will wipe the floor with us. Is he trying to say that losing is inevitable and anything but a hammering is a success?

No, listen to it and you’ll get your answer.

He's a clever boy (when it comes to media guff). He's trying to make the game a free hit should we lose or play poorly. And if we stumble over a result he can big it up as something massive instead of just a good result.

You trying to justify this stuff from him is acceptable. We drew with Man City, why should we not be able to beat Chelsea, just because they have spent a more money than us??  If this is the case, we may aswell just give up. I don't think Klopp is gonna get any praises for saying he cannot compete with the best either.

 Sick of this lazy example

This kind of thing was always gonna happen when he was close to the sack. He has lots of mates in the media. Get ready for the club and players to be blamed when he does eventually get sacked.
