BOF Posted May 14, 2008 Moderator Share Posted May 14, 2008 I'm just curious to gauge how you would treat him on his return to Villa Park in a Liverpool jersey after his 10 years of service to the club.
HongKongVillan Posted May 14, 2008 VT Supporter Share Posted May 14, 2008 Defo for a big cheer, he served the club for years and served it well! But Spainish waiter Manuel would get a lot of sticks thats for sure!
V111A
If he left us now with the club on the up and with him being such an integral part of our plans then i would boo him but perhaps not until my throat was sore!!!
villa89
See the appearances article on the front page. Regardless of who he joins he should be viewed as a villa legend after 11 years service.
number4
the silent treatment! HATE the thought of him going but after all he has done for us couldn't boo him either. Benitez on the other hand...
TOTTI-THE-GOD
I'd chant " you could of stayed with a big club , stayed with a biiiggg club u could of stayed with a big club" and so on

piav_k4
Garry Barry is a legend, regardless of whether he stays or not for me.
AVFC1874
No. I don’t boo Southgate either which I think was a similar case as I also thought that was a genuine move for ambition and he respected our club. I think if Barry moves it is purely for footballing reasons, albeit ones I disagree with. I also think he will speak highly of us and will have given us a great ten years. If he did anything Yorke did – ie start the season yet put in the worst performance ever seen, make a huge song and dance about refusing to continue to play for the club, kiss the badge at his new club in front of us or start to slag off our club in the media I would boo him. However I am confident if he leaves it will be with a heavy heart, a lot of praise for our club and all in all a very dignified exit. If this is the case I will actively clap him on his return
kkr
Pure abuse from me, im sorry but he would be a bigger judas than Yorke if he **** off to the pool, plain and simple.
MagicMarlon
I would be disappointed with our fans if Barry got booed. I for one would applaud him.
BOF Posted May 14, 2008 Author Moderator Share Posted May 14, 2008 I'm impressed. Early signs are that this is not panning out the way I expected.
Straggler
I would applaud the man, he is a gent and has behaved as a pro at this club for a decade. Whatever his reasons for leaving who am I to resent him for it after a career like that with us.
Jon
Villa legend. I'd be giving him a deserved round of applause.
TOTTI-THE-GOD
to be honest i never booed Vassell infact i clapped when he scored passed us , just another nail in the coffin for DOL
briny_ear
Thinking about how ignorant, and ultimately foolish the West Ham fans looked an Sunday when they booed NRC at every move, I think it would be pretty silly to boo him. Having a song ready, "You should have stayed with Villa!" as we put the winning goal past Liverpool, on the other hand, would be very good. stato
I wouldn't boo. But I don't know if I could bring myself to applaud him either. So I'm going for stay silent.
thecraft
i'd boo - sorry! If it was anyone but Liverpool maybe it would be different, but they are the weakest of the so called four, and even beyond that, I just don't like them. Plus they are a state, if he has the ambition and talent then why not wait for one of the four that might win something.
TrentVilla Posted May 14, 2008 Moderator Share Posted May 14, 2008 Impossible to answer that. I booed Yorke when he returned, not because he left but because of his conduct, his attitude away at Everton and the badge kiss infront of the Holte. If he hadn't done that I would haven't have booed him so if Barry leaves the response he gets on his return will demand purely upon his conduct before and after going. wiggyrichard
Villa legend, great servent to the club, would definatly not boo him, but i don't know if i could bring myself to applaude him. He ain't going anyway, me hopes!
