villianusa
Not sure its been said but I think they should be forced to play the away leg where only WestHam fans are present. They need to set an example to the thugs who stormed the field and Villa fans. If any Blues fans happen to get into the game they need to get arrested and placed where they belong. In a Swamp. A fine isn't going to hurt the club but their fans not being at the game will.

GarethRDR
A fine isn't going to hurt the club but their fans not being at the game will. Will it really though? I can't envisage the revenue loss of 5 tickets causing any lasting damage.

Demitri_C
haha even mclesih thinks they are a small club how humilating. Legend McLeish - Fans should act big Blues boss condemns ugly scenes in midweek Last updated: 3rd December 2010 ... McLeish: Big mentality We should be bigger than that. Definitely celebrate it but don't make it look as if it's the World Cup final.Alex McLeish Quotes of the week .SKY SPORTS ON SKY There's more live football on Sky Sports than ever before, including the Barclays Premier League, UEFA Champions League, Clydesdale Bank Premier League, England away Euro 2012 qualifiers and La Liga. Related links Teams Birmingham City .Also see Birmingham fixtures Birmingham stats Fantasy Football ..Alex McLeish has told the Birmingham City supporters who ran onto the field after their win over Aston Villa they made the club look small. More than a thousand fans took to the St Andrews pitch to confront Villa followers after Blues' secured a 2-1 Carling Cup quarter-final triumph over their local nemesis. Dozens of seats in the Gil Merrick Stand were ripped out and a flare was thrown from the Kop Stand before being launched between the two sets of supporters. And McLeish claims the pitch invasion betrayed a "small club mentality" amongst those at the heart of the melee. Phenomenon "We have to be bigger than that," he said. "We have to not have the small club mentality. "The scenes were like when Hereford beat Newcastle in the cup a few years ago and the fans ran on at the end, and that's fine. "But not Birmingham, not a Premier League club. Our fans don't need to do that. "We should be bigger than that. Definitely celebrate it but don't make it look as if it's the World Cup final. "It's a kind of phenomenon for us that we've beaten them and we've got to think bigger than that. "It's a huge thing for our fans. I don't condone them running on at all but I understand their emotions. Running onto the pitch is just a no-go in modern-day football." Ridiculous McLeish added that he did not think the timing of the incident affected England's catastrophic World Cup bid. "I think it's ridiculous," he said. "I think it was decreed before that game the other night. "The vibes leading up to Thursday's decision had everybody a little bit worried regardless of what happened at the Villa game." McLeish, whose side face Tottenham on Saturday, also said that playing the derby match on a midweek evening was not to blame for the clashes. He added: "If it had been on a Saturday and we'd won the fans would probably have still run on, such were the emotions of beating Aston Villa. "The Villa fans are used to beating Birmingham so they wouldn't have run on if they had won, even at their home ground." . fair play mcleish at least he knows how it is
