Fans are complicit for not forcing the boards hand to roll the dice. He’s crap, Mings is off to Arsenal if they pay, Jack to a United is done and who knows for McGinn but at least “Deano” is one of our own. We went into this season with virtually nobody up front and a complete lack of experience or players with any sort aggression. We were in trouble in January and we still piddled about trying to find value in the market, where was the Darren Bent type of signing to lift the club. Apparently Oliver Giroud was available on loan and we got Danny bleedin’ Drinkwater. We can moan about Dean Smith and with some justification but he’s been dealt a crap hand. The truth is probably that if we were a proper ambitious club that was going to take on the PL and be genuinely be competitive we would have made better recruitment decisions. Leaving aside the romance that we all loved of having one of our own in charge a ruthless board would have shook Deans hand given him a big bonus and then gone and got a top manager. Now we’re back to square one and I’ve got little faith in Purslow to turn this around. The owners still have some credit in the bank, but they need to step up now and get some proper people in to run this club or we’ll be having these conversations for years to come. 6 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You kind of forget how big the drop off in quality the championship is to the prem. Well i mean hindsight is great, don't recall you saying in August you weren't impressed by them. Let's give them their fair dues. They were the best team in the championship last season and. They'll be up there again.
