Social media just made it way bigger than it was before. It's nice to get likes and brownie points from "your" group, it makes people feel better.

It's an interesting thing - some people will beat it in literally 3 days. I think the best way to go would be to test until all clear. 

Just because you stayed at home for 10 days and don't have symptoms, doesn't mean you can't spread it. Similarly, that is the case after 3 days even if you tested negative.

I also know someone who is all good, had COVID over a month ago and still tests positive on PCR.

It's hard rule to set and justify it.

Bit of an odd group of people to lump together there if I’m honest. None of the others are a risk to public health nor hold a big helping key to getting us closer to getting out of the pandemic. The gov’t and the (willingly) unvaccinated are quite easily huge parts (not all) to blame for the ongoing seriousness of it all. To put them in a group along with migrants and benefit claimants is a bit odd.

I think testing negative on lateral flows (false negatives aside) is a better gauge of infectiousness than PCRs, which can apparently pick up bits of old virus and therefore test positive for months afterwards as you say.

As in, if you already know you’re positive, then your lateral flow results are getting weaker until negative, you’re good to go.

I don't agree or disagree with the idea but it's an interesting observation. That the young are impacted but are still held in great distain as a snowflake generation.

The generalisation that nurses are dirty bitches. My wife and daughter are both nurses and I can sure you they are not dirty bitches and I'd be confident in saying that 99% of their colleagues aren't either.  You are bang of order spouting crap like that.
