My brothers housemate has tested positive this morning.

As well as living together they've also been posting various pictures of themselves drinking in the pubs recently.

What's the chance of him not having it?   Going for a PCR test today but I expect that's Christmas his ****.

I somehow never passed it onto my wife and I wasn't banished to the spare room until the day of my symptoms and positive LFT so there is hope.

I would assume I had Delta rather than Omicron though.

Another ‘lockdown’, great.

I’d be seething if I worked in the hospitality sector. Most people I know won’t follow any rules about not socialising so it’s basically just a lockdown on pubs, restaurants etc.

These half measures don’t achieve much. But of course, when cases start to fall, like they always do, it’ll be because of our wonderful government imposing these necessary curbs on our freedom.

Fed up.

Is there going to be another lockdown?

So the best way to control the virus to to just ignore it and cases will just fall by themselves due to all the mixing going on

The plague killed at least a third of the population of the "known" world and possibly as much as 60%. It was one of the greatest tragedies in human history; people living through it literally thought it was the end of the world.

Clearly covid would not have been as deadly as the plague even if we didn't have vaccines or lockdowns. Please stop exaggerating the threat it poses.

Sorta lockdown 2 days after the day with the highest household mixing of the year. Brilliant.

Performative bollocks.

I suppose there is some logic behind it, if you’ve picked it up at the family party then best to stay home for a few days afterwards.

In more sane news Novavax has been approved by the EU.  Isn't that the one which is filled and finished in Barnard Castle?

That one had gone of the radar somewhat but assuming the EU doses are still manufactured there that's a good news story for the North East.

Unless you have dogs to walk or shops to go to of course. Can’t be applying this lockdown to literally everyone, only the ones who are positive but who aren’t careful.
