sidcow Posted December 30, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted December 30, 2020 Which has just reminded me of work experience I did at Sainsburys when at college. This enormous woman, literally like a Russian shot putter picked me up by the shoulders and started shaking me like a toy doll demanding to know why we kept changing things around so she couldn't find anything. I'd only been there for 2 days for **** sake. 1

They get abused plenty enough in NORMAL times. I think sometimes normal right thinking people just don't realise just how abhorrent some people can be And that's just the downright scummy people, when you add in the drunkards, the druggies and the care in the community people with mental issues there is a all sorts of difficulties you are expecting a minimum wage kid in a supermarket to deal with. So what do you do, employ an army of private security? Maybe but then they get accused of heavy handed. No win. Totally get that. Daughter is Customer Experience Manager for one of the Big 4, been sworn at, had a doctor hope that she was never in the operating theatre due to my daughter asking to see NHS ID as she was shopping in the NHS hour. Never mind punches being thrown when asking general public to comply with the government advice.
sidcow Posted December 30, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted December 30, 2020 Just been told by my mate that his ex is going to a house party on New Year's Eve. She thinks Covid is all a conspiracy theory and not real. I only met her once and you knew straight away she was a bit nutty but frickin hell. There will be so many people doing the same and with the same attitude.

Wish me luck all! I’m wondering if the test centre will be heaving or an absolute ghost town. Test Centre at Robert Peel in Tamworth was actually heaving yesterday. dubbs
One thing that is starting to get in my nerves is we're getting calls from the Track and Trace service because we tested positive. Not a problem normally but every single one has been silent. Any one else had a similar experience?

mjmooney Posted December 31, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted December 31, 2020 Schools and technology. I would hope that some can handle it, but a lot can't - and it's not all down to funding. When my kids were at high school, it was during that period when comprehensives were all supposedly specialising and becoming 'academies'. Ours proudly proclaimed itself a 'technology college'. How the hell that managed to get passed for that I'll never know. They didn't even offer I.T. as a GCSE option, which pissed off our elder daughter who would have aced it (she was already running her own website, HTML coded from scratch). Our other daughter had a history project to do on the black death, so she did it as a Powerpoint presention - none of the teachers had a clue what to do with it. Looks like not much has changed, in some schools, anyway.

Believe it when I see it. With something like 40k nursing vacancies, 20k doctor vacancies and staff sickness rates three times higher than they usually are how the hell will they staff them. They have been a waste of money and were just a PR exercise.
